Hey guys,

So I've encountered this problem for a second time, the first time I had a rough time fixing it.

My eve client froze and all I could do was force quit the game. After this I tried reopening the client but all that comes up is a blank white screen and the music. The interface is there, you can press enter and the mouse will change when you pass over the user or pw fields.

I tried deleting the client and reinstalling it, but it just came up the same.

Any advice?

Mac OS X Version 10.7.3
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53
4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
2009 macbook pro

Let me know if any other info is needed.

Thanks in advance.

Just had this happen a week ago. I had to delete the folder in application support. Of course that meant losing all settings. I was able to reduce that pain by duplicating the folder from one of the clones I had made.

I've had this happen multiple times now. My client froze the first time, i quit eve, restarted and got a pale screen. Typing password and hitting enter seems to log me into game. Mouse cursor also responds in character selection, but the screen stays completely pale in window mode and black in full screen mode.

Second time it happened was when all of a sudden the voice playback in EVE (Warpdrive active, Docking request etc, seemed like it was played in slowmotion, much lower pitch.) I docked up and restarted the game, bam, same issue. I can't get back in.

I think i completely reinstalled the game 6 times now without any succes.

Have petitioned it 5 days ago, not a single answer from CCP.

running a macbook pro as well.

Delete the Eve Online folder in application support and see if that fixes it.

dragged the folder to trash. Busy deleting 60k + files now?

client launcher starts, client just closes after play is selected. :(

EDIT: update. After a VERY long wait i got the EULA screen and update message. clicked ok, screen flashed white again before coming back. Seems i can get back in now...

I've had this same problem, but the screen goes black instead of white. I noticed that removing the whole folder of stuff fixed it, but instead of deleting the 60k+ folder and losing all my settings, I decided to try and narrow it down. After about an hour, I did have some success.

Users/username/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility/settings/core_public__.dat

That is the only file that I had to delete. Seems the core_public__.dat file becomes corrupted for some reason, causing your screen to display as blank white or black while the client runs perfectly normally. Trash that file and boot the client back up, you should be good to go. Results may vary, talk to your doctor to see if deleting the core_public__.dat file is right for you, etc.

Also if you did trash the entire folder, but have used the clone maker, you can copy the folder from the clone to replace the crrupted one. May save doing all your settings over.

Okay so I'm new to Macs still.... I re-downloaded the client after having the same white screen issue, and the problem continues. So I followed your path to "Application Support" but I can't find an Eve Online folder there. In fact, other than the Eve Online client, I can't find any Eve related folders or files. Please help me!

I just want to play eve again :P

(I'm also running Lion if that makes a difference)

Sure you looked in the right place? In Lion its invisible unless you force it visible. (sigh... Apple sometimes makes thing so hard...)

There are two folders named "Library" so you could be looking in the wrong one.

To make the right one visible run the Terminal program and enter this:

chflags nohidden ~/Library/

After that the folder

users/{your user name}/Library/Application support/Eve Online

should be findable. So go to the folder with the little house icon with you account name, open that, and then Library, then application support.

Just a heads up, I recently had an almost identical problem again, and this time it was a different file. Still same basic location, tho.

To fix the issue, remove all the following files (none of them seem to store any settings of any consequence).

Directory:
Users/username/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility/settings/

Files:
core_char__.dat
core_public__.dat
core_public__.yaml
core_user__.dat
