I'm Asian, and I don't give two ***** when people mistakenly thought I was from a certain country when I'm not, nor do I hold anything against people from other asian nations.

Also: 'Asian' has exactly the same problem of referring to 'too much'. There is that giant continent, after all, and although in the US we almost exclusively mean Chinese*/Korean/Japanese, one hop over the pond and the word usually refers to Middle Easterners.

Oh, and friend, this is what happens when you call someone a word and discover that they want to be called some other word (typically it's a more specific word like 'Thai', and not a differently generic word, unless you're dealing with the professionally offended): you shrug and use the other word. Or, you know, don't, respect going two ways and all.

OP, I saw more Chinese players and Japanese players in Rookie Help, being told to go to the appropriate channel. The ISDs had trouble telling the difference, although it's a very easy distinction to make if you make five minutes of effort learning to do so. One young Chinese national flipped his lid when the Japanese macro was popped on him: NO / I AM CHINESE / NOT JP . Poor guy didn't realize he was 'Asian'!

Don't you get it, any term that is descriptive of a persons race or cultural heritage is racist. Regardless of it's intent or common usage in your country of origin.

Using the term white, black, Asian, Oriental, Caucasian, Native American, European, Slavic or anything similar will offend "somebody" somewhere.

We are only allowed to be generic people, from planet Earth, and that's as specific as you can get.

Cultural heritage is just one more example of "Thought Crime".
