Watching the footage and reading through the forums didn't really give a definitive answer. Did it get moved to nullsec, or did it simply... disappear?

cap could be built in high sec but supercaps couldn't

A Nyx is not a capital, it is a supercapital. Supercaps were never legitimately allowed to be built, jumped, or moved in any other way to highsec. Moreover supercapitals can't dock (and never could).

However, when a GM action results in your lost ship being reimbursed for some reason, the GMs can't just put it in space somewhere, they need to spawn it in a station. And by default they use the station you have your clone set at. So if you happen to have your clone set in highsec, and you happen to get your supercap reimbursed, voila highsec supercap.

Just log out in space in any ship and don't come back for at least 6months and you and your ship will appear in station where you have your medical clone installed.
