Wormholes

I "fell asleep" at the controls once. After an evening of plexing in my very 1st Fleet Issue Tempest, I jumped into an empty C6 we had crit earlier. The hole closed behind me and I was without probes. Not wanting to destroy the ship for my error, I parked at the sun and renamed her "Ghost Ship" . Perhaps she found a more deserving pilot. I then podded myself in shame.
This event continues to provide joy and laughter to my fellow corp and alliance mates.

OK guys, I've got this.

So, we have a wormhole that we need to crit, right? It recently opened up to us, so we are in a hurry before the inhabitants can organize. Well...I warp to the wrong wormhole (an old, crit one) and, in my hurry jump through a faction fit dread and lg slave set + standard 5% damages / trackings.

Me on comms, "****, **** **** ****. **** ****, ****. I am ******* ********." /me s/ds (I was not thinking clearly enough to run around system trying to find the pos in system and solo siege it)

Lost about 5 bil that night. Same week, another guy in corp did the same thing and another dude lost a couple of caps because he did not actually know how to run sites w/o 50% resist bonus (no triage module, I think).

In my previous alliance, I think we lost countless dreads and carriers to d/cs in PvE (sorry guys, but we did).

Turned off my rep for a couple of seconds to get some cap, I guess I went to sleep, because when I came back, I was almost dead. I had 4k resistance-free structure left.

Some truly hilarious stories here. So I'll just go ahead and share mine:

Shortly after joining the alliance a dozen or so of us went out on a WH roam. Found a C3 that was occupied so we decided to see if we could bait the inhabitants into a fight. Being new, I of course was the chosen bait.

So my instructions were : Fly to this sleeper site and let them shoot you into half-shields or so and then warp to a planet. Just keep going back and forth and try to look as noobish as possible. So I proceeded to do exactly that. Except on the third trip I got too close to a "collidable structure" and was too tangled up in it to warp away in time...

So I'm sitting in my pod listening to a deafening gale of laughter coming over Mumble. Yea.... all my mates had been cloaked up a few K away watching the whole thing. That was some six months ago and someone will tell that story and everyone will laugh and laugh all over again. It was totally worth all of the ridicule I've had to endure.

It's a bit haisy and not exactly a 'fell asleep/drunk' story, but we were occupying a C2 for several months, made a ton of ISK, had about 5 bil tied up in resources we were using to manufacture things like polys and whatnot. Our WH went dry so we decided to take a month off and run around empire. One person decided to stay behind to watch everything and scan down entrances in case any of us wanted back in for any reason. I was the CEO, btw. There were about... 23 of us or so.

So one day I went back to the WH and scanned for anoms, and our WH was coming back to life. I called everyone back and they started assembling their return. Slowly. Knowing how much ISK was wrapped up in the operation I got impatient after about 4 hours. The guy that watched over the WH while we were all gone apparently fell asleep (snoring into our TS server w/ vox), so I disassembled the POS and hauled it all out of the WH. One of the guys came into the WH before my last shipment and asked wtf was going on. I played innocent and was like "ZOMG WTF". He left the WH to go grab fuel to reactivate the tower. Gave me just enough time to pack the last of it into my Orca. We crossed paths when I was leaving the WH. I was about 60% into warp when he accidentally webbed me instead of scammed me. Should have heard him swearing as I warped to the gate and jumped into highsec :P

Granted it only makes ME laugh, but I still think it's funny.

on late one night.... picking up PI from the POCO's.... flew in to pick up some stuff and fell asleep at the keyboard...

Woke up and I was swimming in vat goo.... the only good thing is my Itty was empty when they blew it up

taught me to stop flying when you are that tired......
