Watching dust 514 fanfest videos and kinda like ehh still

So in 2009. The frame rates were horrid. The models didn't really flow. The models still see fairly off. The frame rate on the 2012 fanfest videos seemed low too even though it was small matches. CCP was saying they wanted to have up to 100 people in a single console match. Still don't see that happening. PC games cap around 64.

What are your thoughts on the frame rates shown?

The build played at FF was still an older build than the one they currently had, so probably more akin to the 2009 build P

Hard to say, but CCP did say that the matches were based on an old build of Dust. The fanfest attendees are supposedly being given access to a later build of Dust. Just remember that CCP is taking baby steps to ensure that things go as smoothly as possible upon full release.

Given I dont have a PS3 and theres no PC version, I think Il be "eeeh" for the lifespan of that game unless they put out a PC version.

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

Rubish, what about Planetside (one). That had 450 players on the same map like 7 years ago!. Planetside 2 can have up to 2k on the same map!!!!

Another who saw the light of Planetside...the only persistent MMOFPS. WTF game devs of the world, really??? Why do you still pump out crappy little minimap games when this game crushed you 10 years ago?

Cross platform using a console and using a PC would confer an unfair advantage to PC gamers. Managing this to split the groups would be even more of a headache. I say, open it up to more consoles (if Microsoft would allow connections through something other than XBOX live) but please do not make it a cross-platform FPS.

All I know is that it looks like a REALLY boring shooter, if I can chose between bf, mw, unreal, cs, tf2 and a ton of others I would not be playing dust. Looks worse than resistance and probably plays worse. But I hope others will enjoy it and do that part for me.

Have to agree. I am a HUGE FPS fa...fan, and play nearly every major title that allows any sort of multiplayer. Considering that selling me this game will also requiring selling me a ps3, It will have to do things that Halo/COD/BF never dreamed of and pull it off near flawlessly. Thus, I have my doubts.

Dont get me wrong, I want it to be an awesome game that sees great success, forever altering the FPS market. Do I think that will happen on a ps3 exclusive developed by our beloved CCP? Just shy of "no chance in hell."
