Hey lads,

Im training up my HAC and Command Ship Skills as we speak, so I'd like your suggestions. I will be flying a Nighthawk and/or a Sleipnir. I feel just from my observations that the NH will be better for Sleeper Sites because of HMs range. However, I have some fits for a Sleipnir that may disagree.

Sleipnir - WH Fit

7x 425 AC II
Utility High (Possibly Neut in case?) ~~~~ (If im running with a friend should i put a Siege/Skirmish module there?)

2x LSE II
2x Invul II
1x Rep. Fleet 10MN AB

1x DCU II
3x Gyro II
1x TE II

2x CDFE II

- Resists are - EM: 83% Therm: 77% Kin: 73% Exp: 77%
- EFT DPS is - ~800
- 74k EHP on shield, 94.3k Total

Next up, the Nighthawk

Nighthawk - WH Fit

6x HM II
Utility High (Same as Sleip, command mod?)

1x EM II
1x Invul II
2x LSE II
1x Shield Recharger II

1x PDS II
2x BCU II
2x Shield Power Relay II

2x CDFP II

- Resists are - EM: 73% Therm: 83% Kin: 79% Exp: 72%
- EFT DPS is - ~300
- 55k EHP on shield, 68k total
- Shield recharge is 517HP/s

So my question is, which would be more preferably to running Sleeper Sites and doubling as a combat vessel in a WH (C2/3)? Id run the sites with a friend and or Logi, and so the tank isnt as much of a worry.

Thanks,

BKN

I know this isn’t the answer you were after, but ….

If you can fly a decent nighthawk you’re not far from being able to fly a decent tengu … and tengu is the most versatile w-space PvE ship of them all.

Having said that, both NH and sleipnir should be able to tank C3 and below without a huge amount of difficulty, but the reliable ranged delivery of missile systems probably make the NH preferable - No doubt others will argue Big smile. Having seen lots of folk clearing sites in C4s down I see more solo NHs than sleipnirs …. and way more drakes and tengu than all other ship types put together.

If you’re wanting to double as a PvP ship (not sure that I agree that’s a good idea) then the sleipnir’s projectile capability may make it betterer … may!

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

I have not done it personally, but have friends who have solo'd C3's with a slep.

And many prefer a NH to a tengu primarily due to cost. A NH can do a fine job in a C3 at a fraction of a tengu's cost.

So many ganks happen in C3's. Unless your posting scouts and active probing (for new incomings) don't fly your shiny Tech3 ships

I successfully ran C3 sites solo in this ship:

[Sleipnir, C3 WH arty med booster]
Gyrostabilizer II
Gyrostabilizer II
Gyrostabilizer II
Capacitor Flux Coil II
Power Diagnostic System II

Pithum C-Type Medium Shield Booster
Invulnerability Field II
Invulnerability Field II
Shield Boost Amplifier II
10MN Afterburner II

720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet EMP M
720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet EMP M
720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet EMP M
720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet EMP M
720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet EMP M
720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet EMP M
720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet EMP M
Auto Targeting System II

Medium Projectile Burst Aerator II
Medium Ionic Field Projector I

Warrior II x5

At the time that I was running them, that booster was about 400mil, and was worth more than the rest of the ship combined. The fit does require that you kill sleepers somewhat quickly in order to tank them, but having 2 ships on the field or an offgrid booster solves all those problems.

Thanks all for the replies. I probably should have mentioned earlier, but i can fly a tengu, with all sub skills, relevant t2 shield/missile skills and the ship skill at 4/5. The only reason is want to fly something else is because why not change it up as much as possible??

Getting back on topic, since i have my tengu, the Sleip is definately more attractive to me (NH and tengu are similar). Would you recommend ACs or Artys? And local or buffer tank?

Thanks,

If you want to live in WH space I suggest not listening to Fatal lolcension. That fit will die if you **** up in the slightest, nevermind a major **** up.

i can't see how. the tank and cap should be fine, at least eyeballing it without EFT. dps are also sufficient, you have drones to kill orbiting frigates and can project to outside of BS neut range.

I should buy an Ishtar.
