Make CONCORD a player run police force

Great, in theory, but high sec is full of players who simply don't give a ****, most of the time. You'd have miners joining CONCORD for the security and then ignoring threats, people not wanting tol eave a mission or incursion site to enforce, and who would, in their right mind, just want to patrol when there's isk to be made?

Funny idea ... but terrible in practise ...

That would essentially mean that most systems had no concord help at all ...
What is the CONCORD guy is the ganker itself ?
People would abuse the living hell out of it.
Player conc would be terribly terribly inefficient ... or I guess the next logical step is that you want CONCORDE ships too with superweapons etc etc.
Leads to the (small) chance that the gankbear is actually good in pvp and kicks your police ass.
Seen ROBOCOP ? ... now think of the scene where murphy goes into the factory and gets shot up to pieces .. thats you jumping into a belt like a hero.

Funny idea but wont work. I do think there would be a chance for somesort of "deputy" system that allows you to hunt the bad sec status people. Rewarding from it would be impossible thou since people would just have their -10 alt flying in with the cheapest possible fit.

Do you know who your new police will be? Have a wild guess, but I will give you a clue: they already sit at the gates on the trading routes.

Actually, no I didn't.... I don't mine or haul and I rarely travel to Jita, maybe once or twice a year. I'm just of the opinion that one systme in each empire should be a neutral - ground, trade HUB.

Some would do it for the RP element, others simply because it would mean the role of white knight characters would feel like it was actually supported. Some would do it for the rewards if they were sufficient. Many would probably do exactly what you mention and take bribes to do nothing, but, unless they are all on the payroll, someone else would just do it instead.

Replace the concept of criminal with the concept of enemy and you have just described Nullsec.

perhaps a new class of character....sheriff. militiaman, maybe even expand upon the bounty hunter role. player run "deputies" . taking CONCORD out of the picture is a bad idea. giving US the ability to clean up our own trash, is one of the best new idea ive seen from the troll pool. no offence OP, i LOVE the basic idea you propose.

Or get rid of concord altogether and have empire navies deal with criminals in their systems. They have sovereignty there afterall.

I am sure the noble and meticulously altruistic EVE playerbase would in no way abuse such a facility.

You're right! Let's make CONCORD all humans. That way we have plenty of time to get away from ganking people, heck even escape them because E-Uni Idiot A is eating his donuts and cannot be interrupted.
