I just got my ASS handed to me trying to run this in my fail tengu.

I was neuted , scrammed, webbed, target painted, and shot at by multiple cruisers, missiles and other nasty things.

My tank melted under this much pow wow. Lost my tengu, as well as a level 4 sub system skill, I could not eject in time the DPS was so great.

So, if you were caldari would you use a battleship to solo this nasty mission? I'm assuming I would be able to EAT the dps in a navy scorp or raven much better then a cruiser hull.

thoughts? Suggestions?

Soloing a lv 5, sounds like you didnt do your homework :d

Tengu isnt fail, its one of the best mission ships. But lv 5's aren't missions that you should do alone, even if you fly a battleship you are likely to get asspwned.

As the last poster said, level 5 missions are intended to be flown with logistics, tacklers (or at least people to kill the drones/frigs), and in a fleet.

could try a rattlesnake i used to use one for cal navy lvl 5s didnt really need my logi alt very often with it but i have nvr tryed angel ones so dont know if they incoming DPS is different.

I have soloed several level 5 mission in my tengu. Yes it can be done, low signature, uber resists vs battleships is NO problem. I tanked mordus mobs of 12 BS with 80% shields!

The problem with the angels mission is the frigs and cruisers who hit with 100% damage, so even with my uber resists I don't last very long especially since the little fockers are using Target painters plus webs to slow me down.

It's nasty nasty double bad!

This mission is a BREEZE for a tengu to solo.

mids:
3x large shield extenders
1x kin amp t2
1x thermal amp t2
1x inv field t2
AB t2

hint:
subs
cap regen matrix (so you can fit 3x large shields)

real men don't use covert ops cloaks but acceleration ejection bays and dscan!

Not true at all, I have run a few level 5 missions solo and it's totally doable with the right fitting.

Passive fit your tengu for missions that have heavy neuting. DPS will be bad, but it works. Otherwise get a fiend or dual box in RR tengu's

This was my passive fit that melted. Unless you have other suggestions, try the angels mission in a passive fit solo, it's not possible in a tengu.

I never do anything solo unfortunately, learn't after month 3 of my first toon that "friend ship" is not always the best ship to have. So I dual box everything but PVP. You could try the RR tengu, don't have fit handy, but I think it had 100k ehp, and would get 1,3k tank cap stable, only 5 launchers though. Other wise 1 tengu and a scimi or tengu fit for RR, don't laugh, reps better than a scimi or basi, range is your only problem as T2 shield reps only get 12km.

EDIT.. i would fit a passive tengu as per below, as said, its dps is bad
