I filed a petition about spawning rates of asteroids, I notice some systems I mine in, there are no new spawns for about a week :(
(And I been mining them for a week, so who knows when theyll happenSad )

The GMs answer was "Spawn rules are secret" Shocked

Can people share their experiences of spawning rates in Hi, lo and nullsec, it would really help miners who are a dying breed in Eve ofcourse, esp for the next month with Hulkageddon V Roll

Miners a dying breed?

The mineral prices have doubled in the last year. I think the hulks will come out very soon indeed.

I do know several astroid belts are broken, i have 2 in my local mining system, roids are supposed to be on a 4 day cycle untill they reach full status. I have 2 belts in my system where the full status result in Bistot and Crok rocks not reaching more than 800 units a roid where as other belts in the system they reach from 3k-8k at full status.

I notice there is sometimes an uneven respawn of the same ore across the same system, its all confusing .

I noticed some things in this game are hard. And almost realistic.

Weird huh?

Last time I mined (4+ years ago?) it seemed that the respawn rate was dependent upon system security level. 1.0 respawned daily, .9 less frequently, down to .5 respawning about once a week. Didn't mine low/null, and haven't paid any attention to it for the last few expansions. Don't really care at this point. Get out of the belts, hit low/null if you have a team, or do grav sites. Slightly better, more fun, better chance of finding stuff that'll get you out of the mining groove if that's what you want to do. If not, take your Hulk into 1.0 and knock yourself out.

The GM said respawn rates aren't always related to downtime, the plot thickens.

I dont think high sec belts respawn every downtime anymore since escalation. I noticed this the other day, not enough info but I know it didnt respawn at all over a course of 2 days.

I recall one night in a nightclub called the matrix, there I was... Mother of god there I am! Holy f**k.

More likely the GMs might not know the game mechanics on the asteroid respawns.

Why not check with a CSM member if they can ask a dev or something on the asteroids and if there is a complicated pattern to it.

Thats the whole point, CCP has forbidden its devs to let players know.

My theory is that CCP does not really know when belts respawn or which amount of ore's will respawn at which amounts.

Here is why, like a lot of things in EVE they are probably a random number chosen between a set of predetermined maximum and minimum numbers.

Chance.

and iFor every empty system in EVE there are probably 2 full ones not being mined. try moving around a little bit.

This really.

My own understanding was that it worked similar to depletion on planets - if you actively 'mine' the same area less will show up there over time, and more will show up in less active areas. I've seen proof of that when scanning systems with no nearby stations (say within two hops) and a lot of belts - you'd easily see Veld rocks each containing 100K-150K each, and similar in Pyrox etc.

That does make sense, CCP does want us to move around and not be attached to a single system, and when in losec, that's more exciting for the gankers whom CCP likes to keep happy Roll

Chances are far more likely the the roids are being mined out prior to you logging on (after server reset, meaning Russia / Asia).

The majority of the belts my mining alts frequent are lucky to have any pyro in them past 5 - 7pm central time (about 50 belts total) having been mined up by bots and other players.

If you really want to check if they are spawning login right after server reset and see what is there.

Did just that last few days, respawns are rare and far between.

Huh, it's almost as if an automated algorithm making use of a random number generator was responsible for the respawn rate...who would have thought a programmer would have done that!?
