I'd like to meet with local Houstonians somewhere, sometime. I'm on the Westside, close to Katy, but can do a *thing* locally or in Galveston, Austin, or San Antonio without too much trouble. If we keep it close, I can arrange some bar specials to accomodate the group.

We have had meetings the last Saturday of the month now since the original post, so it is now officially a regular thing that all Eve players are welcome to.

We meet at http://kingsheadpubhouston.com/home.html , and have our own conference room to gather in.

I live around the friendswood area and have been intrested in a eve meet up for awhile. Sadly all of the H-town meetups have fizzled but if you could get one going I'd be down.

Without having any knowledge of plans yet, it's not unlikely that there will be some CCPers at GDC in Austin in the fall. There was a successful player gathering there last year that had devs attend. Not sure if that helps but there you go :).

This is a start. I wasn't looking for a big event, so I'll give it a week or so, then set a spot somewhere in the midlle of all who check in.

GDC in fall I'll have to look into that. One more excuse to get in trouble.

Cool, good response. For planning purposes, the weekend of the 12th gives people time to plan. This weekend (the 5th, aka Cinco de Mayo) could be pulled together in a pinch too if needed. This allows for other festivites as well for people driving for two and a half hours from Austin,Dallas, and Ft Hood. In either case I can park one on a couch, one in a recliner, and maybe a couple in a spare room if needed for those on roadtrip. If other Houstonians can/are comfortable with hosting, check in, save somebody a couple hundred bucks. I'm also assuming that all parties are of legal drinking age, if that is not the case do speak up so I can find something where all can be.

I live in Katy as well.

Probably the only person I know who plays EVE around here is that dude at Target who hi-fived me when I said I played EVE Online.

Ok, Saturday Apr 12, Hazzards Bar and Grill. 1570 S Dairy Ashford Rd, Suite 122, Houston, TX 77077. Target time is 8pm, drink specials are in place, under 21 is allowed but cannot consume alcohol per state law. There are a handful of hotels within less than $10 cab ride from point of meeting, from budget (65$/night) to "you have too much money" (if you have to ask you cant afford it). I've never arranged an "event" before so who shows up does, hopefully it will evolve into a fairly regular thing.
Look for people in Eve t-shirts.. can't miss.

Hopefully you mean Saturday, May 12...other then that, sounds great.

I'll do my best to make it out there. I'm glad somebody stood up and took charge of this thing! It looks like it's starting to get the interest needed to make it happen.

I've been meaning to hit the Austin meetup at some point. Maybe the GDC super event this year will be more doable. 3.5 hour drive out there but it's worth it!
