The door will be replaced by a ship spinning in a hangar, actually.

Hey Torfi, is it possible that when the "ship spinning" functionality comes out, we can have a checkbox in the options that will give us a choice where it opens into?

The reasoning I have behind this is because say I docked, then I'm in ship spinning mode, then got out of my ship. If I'm doing my thing in the CQ and eventually in the station, say I undocked from my CQ - the next time I dock, I will go directly to the CQ. Say I just wanted to do a quick salvage dump before going back out - this would defeat the purpose of having the ship spinning view in the first place.

It also fits with the immersion of the game. When someone docks, it's accepted that you see your ship in a hangar bay. Then to leave the ship into your CQ. It is nice to be able to undock from within your CQ though, it saves lots of time. But I don't think people would like to go back into their ship every time just to undock.

Personally I'd prefer the ship spinning as "default" when you dock ALWAYS. I love the CQ, and will definitely spend lots of time in the stations, however I prefer the freedom to choose, not based on what my previous actions were.

Thanks for your time.

Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed. The Gallente CQ looks almost exactly like the Minmatar CQ with different textures and the Caldari/Amarr look like re-textured versions of each other. I understand wanting to get the things out and working, but a little more variety in the actual room and the design of the space would have been nice.

And is it me, or does the character in the video have female leg/walking animations?

Pro CCP, absolutely pro :)

Looking forward to more.

I cant believe you guys are working on space barbies rather than the stuff that matters liek FIXING THE DAMN BLASTERS.(Translation: Im glad to see incarna is still a priority :) Personally, i find blasters to be VERY effective at killing folks, if your excellent at managing range.)

And this ship spinning re-feature will be coming back in at the same time as the new CQs, in october?

Does the Gallente CQ still have the combination jacuzzi and nuclear reactor core? It's hard to tell from the video... Twisted

Your wrong. The more avenues to experience EVE as a sci-fi simulator the better.
Sure, don't neglect FiS (the bulk of what makes up EVE), but why limit it to just that?

I see it appears the other races have taken a cue from the Minmatar of not including private washrooms in their quarters either. Shall we have communal facilities then that we can access when WiS launches? Nekkid avatars taking showers together?

It might sound silly but it's a small detail good for added realism. For example, the Normandy in ME2 includes three washrooms which are semi-interactable, fun for the lulz-factor and simply a "nice touch". If "EVE Is Real", you don't honestly expect us to suspend disbelief about being spat from our pods fully clothed and dry? You don't even need to have a full bath, just an indication (a door!) there is one. If this was near the pod gantry it'd be easier to swallow that during the docking "blackout" the avatar is cleaning him- or herself up. :)

Otherwise, I like what I see and I'm looking forward to the Gallente quarters. The sofas in all iterations look pretty stiff though, more like something you'd sit on in the waiting area of a doctor's office than what you'd want to lounge around on at home. I'm not sure anyone would be really comfortable on them (does all of New Eden shop at IKEA?).

So you're calling a lot of the people who replied to this thread before you a bunch of nobodies? Kindly speak for yourself rather than pretending you are an authority on the entire EVE community. I for one am looking forward to balancing my in-game time between FiS and WiS.

good work. also +1 for the hangar view.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Holy crap in the spring you released an expansion that totally ****** the game. You have been loosing numbers ever since and your answer to that is more of the same? Do you guys have any clue what you are doing? What part of unfuck the game don't you understand? Your theories were wrong. You are loosing players not gaining. At what point will you re-evaluate? The only reason I even have account time to rant on this forum is because I was dumb enough to pre-pay a year thinking I'd be playing this game for ever.

You guy are clueless. Totally out of touch with reality and your customers. Your ploy to drop your customer base and chase after a new one did not work. Have fun in the unemployment line.

Yes. ditch years of investment in tech and months of work on CQ's because the first iteration face planted in its opening months. Seriously, WiS was announced at fanfest 2006 and CCP have been working towards it since then. Or, here's a thought, finish the job that was already 90% done and then move on. The question was never if they should finish the CQ's as it would have been an utter waste not to. Its about what comes next.

The changes the players want are primarily about game mechanics, finishing CQ's were always a job for the art department and the artists are not the people who should be dealing with rebalancing capital ships.

The old-style station hangar will be coming back soon, and that is a positive sign that CCP did learn something since Incarna launched.

I hope that as well as lens flares, the Eve future will be full of STABILITY. The CQ isn't much use when--even with a pretty hi-spec rig--having it enabled crashes my system with alarming regularity. I came within a hair of dumping EVE altogether out of disgust at the stability problems. The only way I can play the game is with CQ disabled.

It would be really nice if CCP would prioritize stability over cutting-edge CQ graphics.

What are your system stats?

Why should that matter? Going from "playing the game at the high end" to "the game nukes my computer" without any change in system requirements is Bad regardless of the system stats. That's one of my bigger pet peeves (besides the regular stuff), the constant decay of client-side performance.

For those of you inquiring or wondering about walking in stations via establishments: we will be releasing more information. I currently don't know the timeline for the info release. I do know that my answer will annoy some people, and I apologize. If I run into Guard later (he left for the day) I will see if he's familiar with when that info will be out (Guard is the new king of blog publishing :)).

These are looking pretty cool.

Quick question, will we get seperate custom CQ video folders for each CQ?
