I honestly don't think you would get that much, not enough to replace it with a "gaming" laptop anyway so I would advise against selling it.

I wasn't planning on paying the entire laptop with this. I can afford a gaming laptop even without selling it. I'd simply like to sell it now rather than later, bcs the price will keep dropping.

I'd say it's not worth much together, probably worth more in bits, as peeps are more likely to replace parts than entire PC's 2nd hand.

Take it apart, clean up the parts, take shiney pictures and ebay it.

Either that or give it away to a friend of sibling, if you just want rid of it.

In a similar boat am I; giving away my rig of 7 years to someone because I'm gonna order my new custom rig tonight Evil

O, have I been waiting for this day.

This space for rent.

ehhh, it's a few years old, probably not worth all that much. Couple hundred bucks maybe.

If you can afford a new laptop anyway, you will probably be better off by turning that desktop into a dedicated media center. They go great plugged into the 50+ inch screen you probably have :p

There should be a rather awesome pic here

Couple of houndred is fine, really. I bought it a bit less than 2 years ago and it's still under warranty.
