new sisi war dec mechanics...

seriously ccp. you have to be kidding me..


I been screwign around on sisi with a few friends exploring the war dec mechanincs.

biggest thing we noticed was.

if your corp leaves an allaince you are still at war. HOW EVER if you leave that corp and join another or make another corp its automatically at war with teh original war deccing corp. .

this is going to annoy many many peeps.
where is my ability to link a sig properly CCP you munters!!

So if you drop to an NPC corp do they go to war? If not it is just a mechanic to entice people to NPC corps.

Interesting, does the new corp get a pop up informing them of all the decs prior to allowing the person to join?

Ofc all that will really happen is the person will sit in a npc corp until the dec passes but it is interesting.

Say you live in a sizable and capable high sec pvp corp. Looking for wars....
You start a new corp with a "young" alt.
Do something to get decced by any other given corp in your 1 man corp... tip cans, wrecks, ninja, talk crap in local etc
Wait til they dec you.
Resign and join the main corp.
Main corp now at war with target corp... no wardec fee?

Right?

This is one reason to love eve. They change mechanics to make people escaping being a target more difficult, and players immediately figure out how to use it to get more free targets Cool

No, you'd have to start a "main alliance", and an alt alliance. Get a corp decced in one and you could move the dec over.

Individuals can still avoid war decs easily by dropping corp for the duration of the war. I also presume you can still just disband corp and instantly recreate it to shed war dec, could OP check that pleeeease? :D I don't have the band width to dl sisi here.

This was advistised as a way of fixing people getting out of wars. Its one of the many fix's to high sec wars...and a good one. You get decc'd you stay dec'd for a week...dock or fight. There were alot of problems with the old wars and lots of the new fix's I'm not sure about, but making it harder to avoid wars is one the things i think is going to work.

It's not been nice, but thanks for using lube

Is it different than current mechanic where you can keep a hi-sec pos invulnerable because of *war-dec timers* - that's all I was asking.

The ability to mutate this in to a giant game to RvB (without the civility) is interesting. Gone would be 'dec shields' but they would be replaced by mega-corps anybody join to turn their war in to a 'oh SH--! moment'.

Then again the original discussions around this idea was that people starting the war would not be able to get adds, so the mega-corp that took on all wardecs would have to be sure to never start a war on their own. Ergo, the player join could not be permitted if they had started a war without the risk of the mega-corp being locked.

So, from a profit point of view, starting a mega-wardec-absorption corp would be extremely profitable if you did so at a very low tax rate.Large enough even a 1% tax rate would rake in a significant income if enough bears were members.

My biggest concern however is that this is going to kill part of the sandbox in terms of small player or solo player actions. The game touts that 'you the player' choose your course of action, but the proposed path being drawn ahead of us would appear to make that extremely limited. As a causal player I still pay month to month. I guess we see what the next month brings.

under the new war dec mechanics. your pos is DEAD! you leave alliance you are still at war for the week or what ever.

Also if you leave corp that is war decced and form a new corp . war deccing corp/alliance gets a free war dec on that corp.

so i guess its one of two things. fight for your right to mine/missions or set up a loooong skill train and go play wow/wot/lotro/sto/d3

..or it'll become a new griefing mechanic: Join a new corp to automatically flag them for war.
