Was just curious how much isk people spent on minerals a month in eve...

I'm still small (compared to some people in this game), but I spend maybe 5-10b a month on minerals (obviously making more then that back, but still!)

I know i'm no where near some of the top builders, but I was just curious..
This isn't a "how rich are you thread" but more of me seeing how small my numbers are compared to everyone else!

So answer away.. be honest dont make up numbers to sound big.

This would vary greatly between players. Only industrial players would buy a significant amount, and even then only those who focus on Tech 1 would buy a major amount. Of course then the question is how much capital does that player happen to have.

If you sold off all your minerals and products how much money would you have? Perhaps only a few billion. The money to buy new minerals comes from selling the stuff you made with old minerals. Such is the nature of capitalism.

Anyway, sorry to say but it seems like a misguided question. I can spend that much on materials, but I focus on Rigs and Tech II modules so "materials" usually doesn't mean minerals. I can easily mine my own for the cheaper minerals even without a Hulk, or even mining regularly. Though I'm still training for a Hulk, just something to do while I read text books.

Perhaps a better question is an estimate of how much capital they have? How much cash + stuff they plan to sell + stuff they plan to make stuff to sell + buy orders + sell orders +etc. Not counting the value of things they keep for their personal use, PVE or PVP.

Um...almost every T2 requires at the very least Morphite which is mineral Roll

and if you arent building the t1 components used in the manufacturing process of the t2, you are probably doing it wrong

Just curious, how many of you that do spend over a billion a month on minerals, buy minerals on the dips?

I don't spend any isk on minerals.

I mine about 1.5 billion units of trit, 700 million units of pyerite, 120 million units of mexallon, and 5 million units of noxcium a month minimum.

Depends on prices but its anywhere from 8-11 billion i make a month on minerals. This doesn't include the profits i get from trading minerals as well.

And they said i was a "noob" carebear........ ha!

About the same... but per week.

I recently moved 12 freighters full of Tritanium for example. Luckily I have my own small fleet of Charons.

orly? Did manufacturing T1 items become profitable while I was away thus breaking a 5 year trend where manufacturers continually undervalued the minerals they mined because they considered them free? Did that suddenly happen? Or is time=money still applicable and either way you dice it, mine the minerals build the t1 component vs buy the minerals build the t1 component, still not enough of the profit margin in t2 production to warrant doing anything but purchasing the t1 component off the market out right.. ?

Just sayin, I get good margins without building T1, if you don't, sorry.

It is far easier to just wait for ISK to drop into your lap, and complain about the state of everything, than to actually take the time and make an effort to study and understand the markets.

T1 has always been profitable for me since I started nearly 3 years ago. I sold roughly 1.4b in T1 modules yesterday, clearing a profit of roughly 13%. It isn't my main business, that would be T2, but it is too fast and easy a way to make ISK for me to pass on.

Nothing is for free.

You spend either time or money or both.

Time is valuable. I think as a miner you would understand that :P.

How can you mine 8-11 bil a month ? o_O

I don't think that is possible. What is your minimum time spent mining ? There is no way you mine 24/7.

If you do 24/7 mining, only tritanium, on one account, it is not possible.

If you do 8 hours mining a day, the most profitable ores, on 4 or 5 accounts, you can get around 36B :P

So by extension, if you take 2-3 hours of mining a day, it is possible to get 8-11B a month.

Oh it's possible. 2 perfect orca pilots/ 5 perfect hulk pilots/ implants etc.

I only moderately mine. I could make a lot more if i put more time into it.
