Hey all, been running around with t1 gallente frigs in Fw missions, picking up a few Pvp fights here and there. So far the I've tried a Tristan and an Incursus. I'm finding it hard to make them preform better then lets say a standard Rifter fit.
Looking for any advice from experienced Gallente pilots please

1. Standard Fit for both of these t1 frigs in Pvp, ( yes iv looked up Battleclinic, they don't seem to help me at all)
2. Tips and tricks on how i should fly them to make them perform well with their fit.
3. And if I do all of this, should i be able to handle any tech one frig 1vs1?
4. Optional- If you have any Pvp videos of these things in action I'll be forever in your debt.

Why I ask is, because I've been told these are good ships and so far i have'nt come close to beating a Rifter in a fair fight.
And if I need to rush to level 5 for gallente Tech 2 Assult frigs i guess i'll do that then, and save all this heartache.Roll

Ty for any help you can provide this inexperienced Pvper, may I meet you in the fields!

1. Check out the advice and fits in this thread Yank especially knows what he is talking about. As you can see, there are many very different ways to fit an Incursus.

2. How to fly depends on the fit really- blasters or rails, buffer or active. You should probably tailor your fit and tactics according to what you most expect to be fighting against, their range and speed.

3. Yes and no. T1 frigs are balanced, and outcome of a fight is usually decided by piloting: one of you does a very slight mistake. I don't believe that there is any single fit and tactic that would work against everything and in every situation, too many variables.

You need to be very familiar with your optimal range and make it first priority to keep inside that. Small blaster falloff is really small and results in low dps, if you let Rifters keep you there you will lose, as they will still hit you with decent dps.

Overheat everything!

I liked this in RvB when not in fleets, has nice range w/Null and almost bonkers dps w/Void. Had success against other frigs, Rifters included.

You should definitely train Gallente Frig V asap, that is a nice improvement to your T1 frigs and yes, AFs are awesome.

The Incursus is very good training ship for the Taranis. So while you have Gallente frig 5, lose some Incursi first before flying more expensive ships.

For videos, google Prometheus's frigank series.

Garmon's Taranis Guide. A bit old now but still quite relevant, contains some stuff about Incursus flying:

Lexa Hellfury took nine days to die in 20 Incursii (while killing lots and lots of expensive things). Luckily for us the fraps button was pressed:

Everyone who says the incursus is a good ship is lying to you or not telling you something. Although the tristan requires more SP to fly (guns and rockets) it is far superior. 2 low slots on the incursus mean its tank suffers a lot. Although on paper that 200 dps with void looks nice, the incursus, unlike the tristan, doesn't get a tracking bonus so those figures are worthless. If you want 3 blasters use a taranis. Incursii cost about 10 mill after the t2 fitting and taranises cost maybe 8 - 12 mill to buy then 8 mill to T2 fit giving you about double the price of nothing.

So once my skillpoints are higher the tristan will become more effective.
So i guess ill stick with the Incursus since it seems more effective since its faster and does more dps.
Shame i like the idea of the tanky Tristan, guess it can be my fleet ship.
ty for the advice a lot of useful info to take in.

With very good fitting skills the Incursus is the equal to a Tristan IMO.
