I think I'll be okay for awhile.

My biggest problem with PvP right now is the fact that I am on satalite internet so I don't get the jump on anyone, and most times when my ship gets popped I am podded before I even see my ship explode.

No, your biggest problem is that you live in Jita 4-4.

Nah. If you want to PvP, you'll just make due with what you can afford. Remember, the VAST majority of PvP in this game is performed with relatively cheap hulls (T1 frigates, destroyers and cruisers). Even a massive (50%) increase in the cost of said hulls will not create a major issue for most players.

I find it hard to fly my drake without getting pissed about paying 50mil for that hull now. So yes it has affected me, but i'm pretty sure the prices will go back down again.

Good question Dean.

I've consciously been avoiding buying a new capital because I remember them at near half the price. I guess if/when the same happens with T2 frigs/cruisers/bcs or whatever I might fly more T1 hulls for pew.

Even the good old reliable solo-fit Domi has become less economical, but then again not flown one for ages. Perhaps price is why? Hmmm....

Wouldn't actually be bad for the game if more people were flying worse ships IMHO. For example when every frigate was a dramiel a short while back, frigate pvp got really boring there.

Well, it kinda affects me as I am a new EVE player (2 months)
As a gamer I always hated PVE and grind in any game. EVE is no exception, so my ISK income is very low.
I can play this game 1-1,5 hours a day only and I want to get fun, explore the universe and learn pvp.

I have a Harbinger for lvl 3 missions but I barely touch it.
For explorations I got a Purifier.
Have a few cheap fitted T1 frigates that I can lose.
And 14mil in my pocket.

So yeah, it does affect me.

Somewhat. I never really flew tier 3 BS much, but was just starting to try out Apoc and Abaddon hulls. Their prices have put an abrupt stop to my "field tests"

Having looked at my hanger, ur no not really. Seeing as making isk is still insanely easy.

Also don't care if Drakes reach a 100m, not being a spaceships for dumbies pilot.

If you think Drakes are the only hulls going to skyrocket in price..

then maybe you should be reading EVE ship building for dumbies.

Your hanger will be empty long before the prices come back down. All ships are made from the same minerals, although the price difference between T1 and T2 may get smaller. moon minerals have not gone up much yet, although they will when the increased costs of the ships needed to defend the moons becomes a problem.

I give it two months before moon minerals skyrocket like the base minerals have.

I have always used cheap ships so it doesn´t make a big difference for me, I would probably afford about 50.

I'm new... why are ship prices going/went up?

Elian,

Get to doing Lvl 4 Missions and in no time you can get some good isk for your time. Or try and find an Incursion Corp for a few months, make a few bill while training your skill Q. Incursion corps are making a ton of isk and as long as you check before hand on their requirements you can probably take time to explore and test out the other aspects of EvE. If you are looking for pvp I would suggest RvB since we offer ship replacement programs and plenty of fighting with experienced players willing to help.

As other people have said, sometimes people get caught up in flying the "bigger" ships or the shiny ships but people often underestimate the effectiveness and fun factor of T1 ships. I have lost faction ships to T1 models many times because the pilot uses his ship correctly. You can have a great time with less expensive ships if you are in the right setting.

Most of the minerals in the game were botted and/or gunmined from the Drone Regions. They started banning bots and changed drone regions to bounties instead of mineral drops.

If the insurance scaled with market cost or CCP seeded a heap of minerals to 'reset' the market it would make life easier.

The big upside is that Navy Scorps were cheap in comparison to a Tier3 battleship.
A few weeks ago it was ROKHs for $220 mil or a Navy Scorpions for $265 mil. My prediction that navy scorps would get cheaper than rokhs did not come true, but it came close.

I agree with that.

I don't pvp in "safe mode" so I almost always lose my ship before the insurance term runs. But the insurance doesn't pay well at all for t1 ships. So I am running cruiser and down.

Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815

Yes, quite a lot actually.
I used to PVP in Typhoons and Armageddons.
Now I am struggling to do PVP in a blaster fit destroyer.

I don't really going to get Battleships skill anytime soon. Only when I am ready to get a BlackOp ship. So level 4 missions is something not real for now. I was thinking about incursions and I'd like to get an Oracle for doing them.
Concerning RvB, yeah! I am going to get into RvB soon! It will be really fun!
I have never heard about your ship replacement program, can you give me some more information about it?

Thanks.

Not to burst your bubble, but Black Ops ships are very expensive and frankly pretty boring. More likely than not you'll just be opening some bridges for friends in Bombers, assuming you can recruit some people with Cyno 5 and such to your cause, then docking or POSing up.

If you want to be a glorified shuttle, you can get a carrier for logistical transport at probably the same price Ugh

If you really want to do battle in Black Ops you'll need pretty deep pockets.
