[OBSERVED] Burn Jita Strategy

Roll

When I first read about all this disruption, I was pissed. But then I figured well, someone was going to try to exploit the Jita bottleneck sooner or later. Problem is, that while buy low markets are splattered all over EVE, the sell high market is often exclusively Jita. Since inter-stellar trade is my money maker, and since goon-swarm has gotten clever and creative, I guess those of us who are tied to economics are going to have to get creative as well. Instead of getting my undies in a bundle, I decided to look at my trade and market tools to see what I could do about this --disruption. What I found was interesting. A couple of days of these attacks have done dramatic things to the markets in which I'm interested. And as you might expect, it has driven them elsewhere --almost instantly. Now I might be a bit premature, but Goon just might be doing us a favor in the long term. There is nothing quite as flexible as market economics. It almost resembles a living and breathing creature. I'm not entirely sure I'm upset anymore.

YES. This was the effect I hoped happens. We need the major markets spread out.

We'll see. That Jita is awfully convenient to the 'relevant' parts of Null.

No less convenient than Amarr or Dodixie.

The difference between going to Dodixie instead of Jita is literally 2 Jump Bridges.

Going to Amarr is a quick trip through Low-Sec.

I find it pretty funny that this whole Burn Jita thing is supposed to try to destroy the economy... the reality is that once it's done, Jita's going to have a flood of people going to get stuff they'd been waiting for, and industrialists will be making money hand over fist.

Jita is high volume - but often the lowest of the 4 major hubs in terms of sell price. You can generally get 5-25% more ISK/u by selling in the other major hubs, but it won't sell as fast as product in Jita.

(Faction / rare / low-volume items - might be different. But the high volume stuff that sells in 10s / 1000s of units at a time is generally cheaper in Jita then elsewhere. To the point that when I buy input materials, it's cheaper to buy the stuff in Jita at 10-15% below the other markets, and ship it all the way across the empire to turn it into product. Even though I pay about 1-2% in shipping fees.)

Thanks for the semi-confirmation, I'll be checking prices. I've been considering selling my Jita-produced product elsewhere.

A professional astro-bastard was not available so they sent me.

I ALWAYS get T2 parts cheapest in Jita. It's the Target of EVE. (Walmart is too evil even for EVE).

If/when EMK gets back up and running, you could look at pages like:

http://www.evemarketeer.com/item/group_summary/18

Megacyte

Forge = 3250
Sinq = 3500
Domain = 3304
Heim = 3440

Datacores - Electronic Engineering

Forge = 179k
Sinq = 194k
Domain = 198k
Heim = 216k

Fullerides:

Forge = 4000
Sinq = 4399
Domain = 4397
Heim = 4500

Hobgoblin II

Forge = 418k
Sinq = 419k
Domain = 440k
Heim = 463k

Small Tractor Beam I

Forge = 1.63M
Sinq = 1.85M
Domain = 1.72M
Heim = 1.75M

(It's a real shame that EMK is broken, it's market summary page was a big step forward, letting you get a quick look at an entire group of items, across the regions that you chose.)
