The point of view of a hisec miner carebear fatalist. (Not what you're expecting...)

You can't really summarize what I am and what I do in fewer words. The lowest sec rating I've ever stepped into so far is a 0.5, and it ended about as well as you can expect (pods really are kinda pretty when they blow up, he says with a look of wry humor). Seeing all the mudslinging between both sides of the PvP fence had me thinking a lot about this, and I can't speak for the rest of you, but I'll say this.

So?

All the raging in the world about PvP and people raging when they get ganked isn't going to change the fact that it's eventually going to happen to everyone who doesn't expect it. It happened to me twice? three times? so far, and I admit the first time it happened, it pissed me off, but it didn't even take me that long to get over it. The subsequent times were laughed off because hey, things happen, people will be people. The whole aspect of 'nowhere is safe' is what brought me here. There's probably a few of you reading this right now who're wondering how pretty my ship would look as a modern art project after you blow it up, with my corpse as the centerpiece. Honestly, I welcome the possibility of it.

This isn't the first MMO that I've ever played, but the ones I've been on so far have either had well-developed PvP or were designed with that very concept in mind. I'll be the first to admit I'm horrible at it. (In fact, I'd be the first ten to admit it.) But let's face facts here: there's people like me who relax by hitting giant space boulders with lasers for hours at a time, and there's the people who see a crosshairs on my bridge. I expect the first few minutes that I spend in nullsec are gonna result in a very short fireworks display. I even expect someone to see crosshairs on my ship if I get bored enough to mine in 1.0. Sure I'll run; gotta protect my investment somehow. Doesn't mean I'll immediately send you a mail with rage, tears and an HBO Comedy Special's worth of vulgarity in it. Whoever does it might even get a joke about recycling.

Haha, I read the Title as "The point of view of a hisec miner carebear fascist."

Serious response: you sound like a person who could do well in nullsec and just isn't confident to try it. I promise you that if you find a corp/alliance that is willing to tutor, it will be easy, and rewarding.

Secondly, I like your style, and wish more carebears had this view.
