Exploration - Ideas for new sites

Hey

I've been doing some exploration over the past years, on and off, but would consider myself quite familiar with the concept as it is currently.

The sites at the moment provide a range of possibilities for people to spend time and earn ISK, both casually and "professionally". Mining, Salvaging, hacking, archaeology and then of course the combat plexes.

There are however several things I can think of that would add some depth to the system.

Firstly, I would love it if the current 4AU from a planet limit were lifted. I do believe this limit was introduced with the first exploration change, where the probes were immobile, and had to be placed carefully in space for triangulation.

That isn't the case now, and I would think it would add some complexity and fun (!) if the sites had a possibility to spawn, let's say, anywhere within 50AU from a planet, or 50AU outside the outermost planet orbit. these sites could then be balanced based on signature strength and distance.

I would also love to see Ice containing sites - be it one block of ice (and one that could actually be depleted...) or more.

Another one might be areas containing some more intriguing arc/sal/hack sites, these could be one of the "deep" sites, and would pose a challenge, both in resistance and hacking skill - might even connect in some way to the wormhole sites?

I did see the fanfest slide mentioning moon materials in mineable asteroids. - A site like that would be very cool, (the long-promised comet mining sites come to mind, hehe)

Sites where the environment plays a role would be intriguing - adding a mechanic similar to the system effects in the wormholes or the incursion systems.

I haven't discussed any balance between high sec and low sec in this, but I'm all for adding stuff to low sec areas - to draw more people in there.

more dynamic stuff would be nice
static sites added to constellation sigs/anoms (like the miraz constellation has that ded site)
teeny chance of escalations from anything (inc. missions and faction belt rats)
rewards that arent always a faction item, maybe a nice boost to sec status, or that regions faction, maybe some LP etc on site completion
npc spawns in belts (miners, orcas etc who every now and then would get attacked by rats and call the nearest pc)
faction navy ships 'patrolling' lowsec aswell as pirate vessels (and conflict between the two)
less, but more powerful npc rats with smarter AI in missions/sites (with less preidictability of spawns)

um.... just stuff to break it up and make it a little more of an enviroment (no, not wow)
i dont do much pve tbh, but i hear alot of complaints from other players about it being very boring and it is extremely boring

As for the combat sites I'd like to see a few ungated ones, and I also wouldn't mind seeing the escalation sites altered and buffed.

Currently almost all the escalation sites are worthless, since the time spent doing them is actually less profitable than spending that time continuing to scan for a rated site.

I also think the value and difficulty of the sites should be looked at. As new ships have been introduced most sites are now ridiculously easy, I found that even the hardest 10/10 (the blood shipyard, imo) can quite easily be blitzed when dual boxing.

Also, they're too damn safe! The gates system is a joke, I always leave my scanning alt sitting on the in gate, rendering my characters 100% safe whilst inside. This should be looked at, maybe increase the range at which you can use the gates so cloaked ships can use them without decloaking.
