OK so you are pissed off at Burn Jita, or Hulkageddon, or OTEC, or whatever. And you persionally want to do something about it. That's an understandable instinct. But there are some things that won't work and some things that will work.

getting a fleet together and sending it into their space won't work. And you will explode in an embarrassing and halarious manner.

Donating money to people who say they are going to do something about it won't work. Unless it's me. You should give me lots of money.

Forum whine won't work because your ideas are terrible and will be ignored.

Counter ganking suicide gankers will sort of work, but you are just blowing up ships that were going to blow themselves up anyway.


But what if I was to tell you that there is something you can do on your own, that takes very little isk, very little SP, and very little actual piloting skills. But it can shut down an entire nullsec ratting / mining system.

If you don't know what AFK cloaking is, go look it up in the "Assembly Hall" or "Features and Ideas" find any thread about cloaking and AFK cloaking always comes up.

Basically you just sit cloaked in someone's home system in a safe spot spooking the locals. They don't know if you are in a T1 frigate with a T1 cloak and no cyno, or if you are in an Arazu ready to drop a black ops fleet on anyone foolish enough to undock and try running havens.

So for all you frustrated Carebears out there who can't use their space right now, why not re-purpose your 24 some odd mining alts to prevent someone else from using their space.

First you'll need to fit up some cheap frigs with some cheap cloaking devices. Then look up whoever is griefing you today and find out where they live.

And then just put your alts in there, and leave them online, simple as that.


Maybe it'll work, and maybe it won't. But it'll give people something to do rather than impotently raging on the forums. And who knows, goon tears got titan tracking fixed, maybe goon tears will get AFK cloaking looked at. Now that I think about it the goons are probably more of a positive influence on the eve universe than people give them credit for (even if it is in the most ass way possible).

Changed my mind. I've decided to do absolutely nothing.

I'm at work right now. In 4 hours, I'll be at the pub with my mates. In 12 hours, I'll be asleep.

In about 20 hours, I will wake up, login and go about my usual business probably for a few hours.

Caregoons are irrelevant to my existence in Eve.

Maybe im missing something, some major point in thsi plan perhaps.. If pilots are sacking Jita and sploding people in hisec, why would they be afraid of an afk cloaker out in nullsec?

Sure, I'll get most likely get blown-up. Don't care. Will just hop into the next free n00bship and do it again. Meanwhile, everyone will have a good time - Goons chasing me, and me giggling as I turf the lawns on my joyride.
