People don't live and die by the word of the forums or anything else. Some people just play the game whenever and however they feel like. Does that make them stupid? No. Ignorant to the larger game perhaps, but not stupid.


Knowledge is power, being on top of what is going on around you is pretty important, especially in a sandbox game like this. I don't read the forums religiously either, but I do pay attention to what is said in chat channels.

Honestly, I've found the Help channel to be quite (heh) helpful in being kept up to date with the latest happening in EVE. If anything major is happening (or going to happen) it's going to be mentioned in Help chat not once, but a billion times (and give the ISDs a headache :P) so missing it, even if you ignore the channel most of the time, is pretty hard.

That said, my stupid remark wasn't aimed at people not knowing what was going on, but flying a unique (scanning) ship through a warzone, "presumably" to scan out where the action was (the image I was referring to, in case you didn't see it: http://imgur.com/a/RfNi1/#5). Or to quote EDI from Mass Effect: "That was a joke".

This is sad but very true.
The Jita burning will be a learning lesson to a lot of players.
And I have to wonder how many will just lose a ship for the fun of it.
There are a ton of players that could lose a freighter and not even think twice about it.

Answer? GSF is planting freighters to make it look more successful than it is.

Orrr there are those that don't look online for anything EVE related and treat it like a game rather than a second life....noobs....

LOL. I sat in Jita local in a Cov-Ops watching 4-4 un-dock and I was totally shocked by the number of haulers un-docking, getting scanned and primaried when they were loaded. In the hour or so I was there before I left I saw I think 5 or 6 freighters get popped at un-dock, and several haulers and 1 orca I believe. All the while, local chat is filled with killboard links of previous kills.

It was an amazing experience watching the Darwin Awards being handed out by Tornado's.

Personally not a fan of large alliances. Again as I have mentioned in previous threads I just don't do real well around large groups of people, both in game and RL.. but damn... this is a hell of a show and I'm enjoying it and I wish I could handle lurking in Jita longer to watch more.
