It’s an extremely unconventional tactic for an unconventional military campaign: the Goonswarm’s goal is no less than invading the most protected and populated hub of industry in the galaxy and crushing it.

It reads like typical inaccurate journalism, because the stated goal of burn Jita, per the person who conceived it, is 1.) to relieve some butthurt from being, what he calls, thrown under the bus, and 2.) to see if today's CCP is the same as old CCP (which evidently they are because they gave this their blessings)

Moral of the story, don't watch sensationalized fox news.

Remember Goons don't care about you or me, nor about the effects of their actions. Goons just want to see the galaxy burn. And it's that Joker philosphy that makes m so succeful, people expect them to do something sensible with all their power, but all goons want is to create chaos and see what happens.

And yet, my text is better researched and more accurate then their's evidently. Why the Jita burn is happening has been clearly stated, and the intent is not to invade Jita, it is to test the sandbox and relieve some butthurt.

Their actions have brought complete chaos to the system, destroying millions and millions of ISK worth of ships and goods.

I saw a single freighter gank marked at 800B, so that part is bullshit too. Whoever wrote it does not understand much about what is happening, or eve in general it seems. Yes, don't watch the fox news.

For some odd reason, most people can't tell what they are actually expressing with what they are typing
when being online ... being chats or forums.

Sweet, events like this are why Eve makes headlines in both the gaming and mainstream media Big smile

I started playing after seeing an article on the BBC website on one of the many varied ways in which you get to mess with other people in Eve, there's quite probably many others that were put onto Eve as a game by reading similar articles.

What makes Eve different from every other game out there is that here, players create the content, players create the stories, economic warfare can be a reality, empires can be raised or crushed at the whim of an alliance leader and nowhere is safe.

Kudos to everybody involved in the burn Jita operation, CCP for the hardware and frameworks, Goonswarm, TEST, NOIR, Moar Tears for the pewpew & even the people who are constantly undocking their multi-billion ISK ships and cargoes, despite the warning that Jita is on fire when they log in, for assploding. You're all playing your parts in making Eve great and attracting new people to the game, you can never have to many targets Twisted

Viva la Sandbox

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

If that is a skill you lack, I understand. Many people do. Some of us are very good at picking up on subtle nuances however. Your toon for example, although to the common untrained eye he may appear to be angry or impending.... in actuality, I believe him to be having a proctology exam at this very moment. It can hurt, and thus I am not fearful of him, he instead has my deepest sympathy. He looks as though the white finger of a gloved hand is reaching into the great beyond even now, but you can only truly see it after you maximize the picture.

See it now?
Yep, a proctological exam.

Ya it's also a huge company with sponsors and partners to cater to. I'd rather get info from gamer blogs where if a game sucks they'll just say in instead of sugar coating crap because the company buys ad-space on our website.
