Jita Burn - System Self Defense Force

OK so those childish cowardly bullies that call themselves "Goonswarm" have decided that things didn't go their way with Mittens and are doing their pathetic Jita Burn thing.

So they have brought in so many ships that it has overwhelmed Concord. But players still need defense right?

Well how about CCP install a feature in the game, that is "Local System Self Defense Force"

How does it work?

OK, there is an event Jita Burn. There are too many ships for Concord to take out, so those that want to help other players join the "Local System Self Defense Force". Doesn't mean leaving your corp or anything like that, you just join up inside a station, then you and others in the force can legally kill any ship tagged by Concord as an aggressor.

Would only apply to the system that you are currently in.

I would be interested to hear what others said

Oh did I mention that Goons are cowards and bullies?

Welcome to Eve, where it's impossible to set up a system so that it can't be abused. No matter what you do, someone will always find a way to abuse the system, it's the nature of having smart players in a sandbox game.

1. I have stayed the hell away from Jita, cos I knew about the cowardly acts about to be perpetrated by the Goons
2. I don't want to make this a specific "Shoot the Cowardly Goons" thing. It would be a general, anytime thing. for ANY gankers.
3. That's right I would like to be able to shoot anyone that fires on someone else with out a wardec.
4. How is that rewarding any idiocy?
5. Would this not bring a new and exiting aspect to an already great game? Oh wait... Any time something is done that disadvantages the cowardace and bullying of the Goons it pretty much gets nerfed... sorry... forgot about that.

I don't care if you like goons or not this is what makes eve brilliant. The ability of a group of people to change history. Want to fix the Burn Jita issue DONT GO TO JITA !

Absolutely agree with you Graeme... That's why I have stayed away from Jita the last couple days, but I think people are missing the point...

Yep, a group of people can change history, and good on them for trying... I think anyone who has gone into jita in the last few days and been ganked has pretty much deserved it.

However, remember, that this is a group of people who are affecting a lot of other peoples game play experience, in a really negative way.

Am I trying to get cheap High sec PVP? Of course not... If I was that way inclined I would wardec a small indy corp and grief on them. But who is getting cheap High sec PVP? The ones in warships that are attacking traders!

The point of this idea of a Local System Self Defense Force is to prevent this sort of thing from happening. Would Goons have been as happy and eager to attack Jita if they knew there would be 1,000 pilots waiting in warships for them to turn up? Maybe... maybe not... but it would have evened up the odds a bit wouldn't it?

And yeah, I don't really like Goons, or the way they handle themselves. This has been as a result of several things that have happened to myself and ingame friends over the time I have been playing that lead me to believe these people are cowards, bullies and are totally lacking in honour.

Firstly, the fact you are slating GSF as cowerdly bullies pretty much voided your idea in many many peoples eyes, they simply see this as a tears thread.

However, lets assume you in fact had posted properly and not from an 'I hate ebil gewns' standpoint.

1: There is nothing stopping you shooting aggressors once they start aggressing. Thats how it works.
2: You could do something brave like wardec them, you had plenty of warning, some major alliances did.
3: Concord has not been overwhelmed, this statement shows you simply dont understand the mechanics of aggression and/or concord.
4: What your basically saying is that if you set someone (ebil gewns and the horrid CFC) red, you can just wait in hisec and shoot them? I would truly, truly love that to happen. Did I say truly enough times? Coz I truly would.
5: You dont understand aggression and/or concord.
6: You dont understand aggression and/or concord.
7: Yes I stated that 3 times because you dont understand it. YOU CAN SIT AT 4-4 AND SHOOT GEWNS WHEN THEY AGGRESS. If they are flashy red due to neg sec or for aggression you can shoot them. If you want to. Rather than try to snipe from the forums.

Yes... I don't like the Goofs... er... Goons. And I stand by my opinion of them as cowardly bullies. Not a tears thread, as I have stated that this idea is for any occassion.

1. I understand that I can shoot at any ship that aggresses me.
2. Hmmm.... do I want to spend over 100 mill wardeccing an Alliance, or more on several of them... Ummm... let me think about that.... NO...
3. My understanding was that Concord was overwhelmed and I heard/read this from many different sources... So obviously myself and the several different source I read this from DON'T understand the mechanics of aggression and/or Concord
4. No, that is not what I am saying... If Concord tags them as an aggressor, NOT if I set them to Red. It would be controlled by Concord, not by my standings to them.

Actually No I didn't

And might I say it is good to get this sort of feedback without the sort of personalised abuse that others have given.

As I have said previously, my understanding is that you can only shoot on someone that is aggressing you. I did not know that you could attach someone aggressing someone else, as others have suggested here. And that really makes my idea superfluous.

So, basically like I said, you didnt understand GCC or concord. Concord spawn ships for every individual aggressor in system.

Your whole idea is moot, BUT if you had not started your post of with a blatant attack at the pilots in GSF I wouldnt have attacked you so, just set you right on what you are misunderstanding.

Dont come into the forum shouting that a group of players are bullies and cowards and then complain that you are being attacked for said post. An explanation as to why they are bullies and cowards would also be good. Id liek to see you rationalise how an organisation that expends billions of isk daily on pvp are cowardly. It just sounds like a whine about your game being disturbed.
