I did a quick search and didn't see a thread about this yet so here goes.

I played the Tera open beta over the weekend. It was fun. A little cartoony and as usual plenty of the oriental sillyness that comes with most Korean styled games but otherwise the combat and gameplay was a blast. A little different from the norm at least.

The article linked above is about the "PLEX" system they are going to use. Or rather they are implementing what they call "Chronoscrolls" which are purchased from the En Masse (Game company) and used for game time. These can be sold in game to players for gold just like the "PLEX" system. The article notes CCP as the first company to do this within EVE Online. I thought it was interesting that another MMO was finally picking this up and using it.

I think the "PLEX" system is a good way to help reduce gold selling and players buying gold from other sources other than the development company. It's not perfect...obviously. There are still idiots who insist on buying illegally when there is a system in place already to buy legally but you can't cure stupidity in people.

But yeah...when you make a game where an entire race looks like little girls with bunny ears and tails...what can you expect?

Tera has better breast ambulation than EVE does. At least it isn't unrealistic by any means. It looks natural.

On that note the hair movement is a bit stiff but cloth flows very well. Still not sure myself if I will be playing the bame but the idea of selling game time for ingame gold in another game besides EVE was intriguing to me. It means that CCP has had an impact on the gaming community as a whole.
