How Industry Works

So what you normally do with Industry is you buy a blueprint of lets say a brutix ship then mine the minerals, you then make the brutix ship and then hope you can sell this brutix you made at a price higher than the blueprint you bought, to at least have some income and thats the basics of Industry correct?

So questions:

1-How can i generate my own blueprints, or where can i get them without using the market to obtain them?
2-What do you achieve with research you right click on the blueprint and select research then what(sorry i have no blueprints to try this they are all to expensive thats why i am askin here)
3-To build T2 you need a T2 blueprint? obviusly
4-Does Industry make any sense if you do it in a char thats not on a separate account from your main?

Thanks

If no good answer by tomorrow morning I will provide one myself. The rabbit hole goes deep on this one my friend and I need sleep now.

Peace

Edit : will give you a quick tour

1- Blueprints are either original or copies. Copies you can only find on contracts - unless that got changed with inferno. Originals are to be found on market. Gallente ship blueprints are to be found in Gallente space etc. To generate own prints you need a BPO (blueprint original) to copy from,

2- Researching is only done on BPO's. There are 2 types of research that improve the quality of BPO (quality as in time needed to build item - Production Efficiency or PE and less materials needed to build the item - Material efficiency or ME). Researching is done in a NPC station's slot or in a POS - player owned structure. You will come to find out that researching in a NPC station is close to imposible as most high security ME slots are taken and yes, ME is the most important atribute of a BPO.

3- To build T2 you can use a BPO and invent off it a T2 version blueprint copy. Allot goes into T2 manufacturing and I could cover several pages on this topic (assuming I would know about it which I don't). The nice thing about inventing is that the invented blueprint ignores the ME / PE level of the original BPO so you can ignore researching them. There are also T2 BPO's in game as they where distributed trough a lottery like system back in the days of the olde but no more.

4-Yes.

For manufacturing aim for Production Efficiency (this skill is not related to the PE atribute of a BPO) skill to level V asap for obvious reasons.

I could tell you allot more on this subject as this is something I intended to get into but gave up for reasons that might or might not put you off.

The BPCs for some items such as Tech 2 rig BPC or Pirate Faction Ship BPCs can be found in exploration complexes.
I've also heard reports of Pirate Ship BPCs also being dropped by special NPC spawns in asteroid belts.

It worth pointing out that even the most marginal T2 BPO goes for billions of ISK.
It's unlikely that most players will ever have access to one and the cost of acquiring one is likely to out weigh the price of inventing a BPC.
So look up invention if you want to do T2 manufacturing.

There is a fine line between a post and a signature.

Making Tech II blueprints:

Blue print copy + 2 x data core + Racial interface + non tech II version of the blueprints product + racial decryptor = Chance of creating tech II Blue print of tech 1 items blue print. This does not invent a BPO it invents a BPC.

Tech one BPC in Tech II BPC out on successful attempt.

For making your own tech II blue prints refer to this:
http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Invention

BPC: are created by players, found in complexes, or bought with lp from various faction stores.
BPO's: Unaltered are bought from NPC's.
Researched BPO: Bought via contract.
As always do market research before you start pouring resources into to this endeavor.

Noir. and Noir Academy are recruiting apply at www.noirmercs.com I Noir Academy: 60 days old must be able to fly at least one tech II frigate. I Noir. Recruits: 4:1 k/d ratio and can fly tech II cruisers.

For basic industry, i.e. running off t1 modules because it's easier than buying them for your disposable PvP tackle ships and stuff) I actually don't use an alt at all. The basic skills aren't all that far out of the way, even getting everything up to where you can remotely manage can easily fit into your skill plan without burning more than a week or so of training time, even on the wrong map.
