But it is not a PVP game. It is many things.
Those who keep insisting that, do it because thats how they want the game to work for them.

Please explain to me what aspect of the game you feel does not include any elements of PVP whatsoever.

... oh wait,. they added a counter to that now. We're back to Everyone v. Everyone again Cool

Oh lordy. I haven't seen any insults thrown around in this thread and to be honest, for a while I thought that Hulks were a bit thin on the ground regarding their tanks.

But then I started messing in EFT and realised you can get 20k EHP very easily when you aren't filling your low slots with MLU II's. The only real issue I have with Exhumers is their woeful agility. It is horrid.

Yup i have a fit that has almost 21k EHP, and over 80% resists across the board, Granted Their is No MLU to be found on the fit, and its stuipid with the faction items. But it can be done.

I am gonna fall in with the "Hulk's are fine" crowd. Maybe a sidge more PG/CPU but that's about it.

ok here is the question how much more PG/CPU, to fit what, and how give an example Fit, so we can discuss. and maybe even get some Gankers in here to commit.

The Impel has built in stabs.
Why not give the Hulk a built in feature.
Like a 1600 plate.

The Ore line of ships are Shield tanked. IMO 1600 plate would be worthless.

How about enough power grind to allow for a
How about being able to fit something like this
High
Strip Miner I x3

Medium
medium Shield Extender,
Invuln II,
Small Shield Booster
Cap Recharger

Lows
MLU II
Damge Control II

Rigs,
Cap Recharge rigs. x2 (to lazy to go find the damn name)

Or, how about giving them some extra fitting room to help fit the tank they already can.

what about a script file that starts when you enter a hulk, it hijacks your cursor and automatically drags tanking mods into your empty slots?

Faction tanked Hulks are still getting cremated by dual destroyer teams.
There are killmails posted in C&P to support this.
What we have now is not balanced.

... You don't need faction tanks to handle a pair of dessies, just put on a proper buffer. MSE, invuls, damage control. Having an Orca gang link you also helps a lot.

(And so does mining in higher sec status systems, and mining in deadspace/missions, but you either ignored that advice or were too thick to understand it. Either way it doesn't seem to have registered.)

This is a properly tanked hulk:

[Hulk, Current]
Micro Auxiliary Power Core II
Damage Control II

Invulnerability Field II
Medium Shield Extender II
Invulnerability Field II
Additional Thermal Barrier Emitter I

Modulated Strip Miner II, Veldspar Mining Crystal I
Modulated Strip Miner II, Veldspar Mining Crystal I
Modulated Strip Miner II, Veldspar Mining Crystal I

Medium Ancillary Current Router I
Medium Core Defence Field Extender I

Dual destroyer teams will NOT be able to gank it... especially if you overheat your IF's when they attack.

It has a lot of useful information for you....

Nic Here is the question, what fit is the hardest one for you crack when trying to gank someone? And what type of gank setup do you use to counter it?

Exhumers need some love. No matter what gankers say, they are just not balanced at the moment.
Tanked hulk is a great thing, it can help make you paranoid, but in the heathy way. But even tanked hulks are sitting ducks for enemies unreasonably cheaper, which is simply wrong, no matter how local "uber pvpers" whine.

Very nice, don't have EFT here but I think if you drop to T1 Strips (oh, the horror!) you can drop that ACR in favour of another shield rig.

Granted, at the end of the day, it's still and industrial vessel and will DIAF to a warship. It'll just take more guys in warships to kill you.

Cost is NOT a balancing factor in ship balancing...

I can cheap fit catalysts at under 2m a piece. Should a Hulk (250m) be able to tank 20 cheap fit catalysts (40m)??? Absolutely not...

I've solod ratting drakes and ravens in a rifter..... This is a GOOD feature of EvE... that bigger doesn't mean better....

A tanked hulk in highsec can tank almost any BC or smaller vessel. And two destroyers.... With gang boosts you can tank more....

Organize yourself... a solo player is always vulnerable to a group attack.... But get a fleet of friends together, and have one of them bring EWAR and/or logistics support and suddenly they opponents need to bring quite a bit more to gank you....

I spend more time on a belt then i care to say!

PVP is what keeps the Economy going in this game. With out people blowing each other up, there would be no need to be on a belt to build more ships.

You will die every time IF you are not paying attention!

Trust me fastest way to **** off a ganker is to survive it! Make them spend more isk then what it is worth to gang you! Flying with expanded Cargo holds in your low does not help you. Learn to fit your ships and watch your surroundings. 90% of the time you will see the warning signs you are about to become a target before you are!

I do agree Hulks should get a little more CPU/Power so they can fit a medium shield extender and 1 mining laser upgrade along with shield hardeners and Shield hardening Rigs.

But at the same time The Hulk Pilots Need to be paying attention!

This person gets it.

Even combat ships make trade-offs - more gank / less tank.

Hulks are no different - more yield / less shield.

However, in both cases, you should still have the option of a basic tank - which for a maxed yield hulk, means you have none.

More CPU, PG (means better tank), and definately, more agility.

Mine in a rokh. I do it and no one so much as targets me. Nevermind trying to gank me.
