It is only coming with a standard on board sound card, as I do not know much about them, and deciding to research more before deciding which to go for, so suggestions are welcome

about 1/3 of what you have there is right. Second, no need for caps locks, its midnight and i dont need to be yelled at.

Case InWIN WHITE DRAGON RIDER GAMING CASE
Coolermaster haf is a better case, more features, better made $10 cheaper
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119160

Processor (CPU) AMD BULLDOZER EIGHT CORE FX-8150 (3.60GHz/8MB CACHE/AM3+)
This is a failed processor. Intel is the way to go. I suggest a Core i5 2500k its cheaper and performs about 30% better
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072

Motherboard ASUS® M5A97: AM3+ PLATFORM, DUAL DDR3, SATA 6.0GB/s, USB 3.0
Use an Intel platform for a single screen you dont need crazy amounts of pci slots nor do you need extensive Overclocking features
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131773

Memory (RAM) 16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P (4 x 4GB KIT)
ok i guess, i cant find the 'genesis' model you refer to, but all ddr3 is really good these days. Most dimms are 4gb each and you shouldnt pay more than $90 for 2x4gb

Graphics Card 3GB AMD RADEON™ HD7970 - DVI,HDMI,2 mDP - DX® 11, Eyefinity 4 Capable
Good card but the GTX 680 beats it, not by much but it still beats it for the same pricepoint. Unfotunately its all stocked out. So i guess if you need a pc now go for the 7970

1st Hard Disk 120GB INTEL® 330 SERIES SSD, SATA 6 Gb/s (upto 500MB/sR | 450MB/sW)
This is a good ssd, but also the samsung is equally as good and if they are the same price there is no difference that you would see in your use. If you hook it up to stress testing software maybe you would see a difference.

2nd Hard Disk 2TB 3.5" SATA-III 6GB/s HDD 7200RPM 64MB CACHE
by who? I suggest western digital caviar black but i dont see any instock at newegg

DVD/BLU-RAY Drive 12x BLU-RAY ROM DRIVE, 16x DVD ±R/±RW

Power Supply CORSAIR 850W ENTHUSIAST SERIES™ TX850 V2-80 PLUS® BRONZE
good choice

Processor Cooling TITAN FENRIR EVO EXTREME HEATPIPE CPU COOLER
If you like air cooling go with a Noctua D14, but this one is ok. I might think of useing a fan other than the stock fan as some reviews say it wines
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608024

Monitor IIYAMA E2473HDS 24" LED WIDESCREEN, 2 HDMI/DVI-D 1920x1080 (x2)
I love the U series by dell but the asus and samsung ones are good as well.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001425

Keyboard LOGITECH® G110 GAMING KEYBOARD WITH BACKLIGHTING (£69)
for that kind of money get an honest keyboard. Go mechanical its quile literally the last keyboard you will ever buy because you cant wear these things out.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823816001

Mouse LOGITECH® G500 LASER GAMING MOUSE
i always believe in going to a store and trying all the mice and find one that fits.

no need for a soundcard, most mobos these days have good sound on board, if you are an audiophile asus has some affordable options.

I do apologize for the caps but that was just because of copy pasting from the order form, all those complexx names I really did not fancy having to type out!

I have unfortunately due to advice elsewhere decide to order this!

I understand the processor is not 'brilliant' but I have in the past always preferred AMD over intel, and Radeon over Nvidia, no particular reasons, just personal preference.

I do need a good sound card, although it is more for the recording point of view, but perhaps not too important as will be using a USB connection to guitar / amp to get the sound in to the PC for recording / editing.

Just for reference the Amplifier is a Mustang3 (whether this helps with specifying ideal sound card or not I do not know)

Latest update I have from the builders is that it is currently in QA stage, in a hot room!

I think I can make some changes to the order but would result in a charge and a delay in delivery, is the difference really that bad in terms of the CPU?!

AMD just dropped the prices across the board, due to IvyBridge - FYI

My only complaint , since cases and most external pieces are usually just filling would be the Mobo and the CPU.

AMD? really?

Well, Intel did just hand them their marching orders with ivybridge...and unless they can pull something more appealing than a beef and pickle sandwich from their bag 'o' tricks later this year with (need name of upcoming rumored AMD powerhouse CPU) then I can't see them doing much more than being an also-ran.

Lest us not forget they announced earlier this year they do not believe they are even competing with Intel any more (They may have been referring to tablet CPU's - need citation) it's kinda hard to take them seriously.

Price, perhaps; power-per-watt, maybe; energy usage; who cares?

Either release something which beats Intel, or shine my mother-fuckin' shoes.

AK

in somewhat good news, the rumored new AMD cores have subpar performance but have solved that "lol 300 W CPU" problem. I think AMD has realized that the power PC is dead or dying or at least will not be that huge profit margin product it was in the past, you must make a cheap PC like a Llano chip that cuts the price of a system in half. I also think AMD has its eyes on Xbox and Playstation for something like 150 million units of revenue.

So, nothing to do with PC's, then - and, the only market where they can beat Intel is where they do not exist as a competitor.

Thank you for restating my point.
