Guns anchored at POS without shields.....will they shoot me?

Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I found an anchored POS, with guns anchored as well, but the POS has no shields. Will the guns still be able to fire? Can I steal the guns?

If they say "anchored" then no. They have to be online to shoot you, regardless of whether the shield is up or not.

Also as far as I know it is not possible to have guns shoot you at an offline tower (presumably they drop from onlined to anchored once the tower offlines), but I'm no pos expert.

Nothing says online or offline. Both tower and guns only say "anchored." Same to engage then?

she just answer your question the word anchored is the meaning of array is offline.

if there is no force field it could be that the pos is offline or abandoned.

they are offline unless they say "online". if the tower is also "anchored" not "online" then it is also off line.

you can attack and destroy any anchored modules when there is no force-field protecting them. There is a chance of any items inside that module dropping.

You can not simply steal the guns as they must be unanchored before you can scoop them.

To steal the modules destroy the POS which will cause all the "anchored" modules to unanchor once the POS is gone. You can then scoop them with any ship large enough to hold them. However scooping the modules you will lose any items that were contained inside the module. For example it is usually more worthwhile to destroy a corp hanger than scoop it as there is a good chance it will contain more loot than the value of the module.

If you decide to attack and destroy the tower keep in mind that the EHP is the same on an offline tower as an online tower. there is no force-shield but the tower still has full shield HP. The only benefit is the defenses are all offline and most of the time nobody shows up to defend a offline tower. If it is in high sec you will need to war dec the corp and wait 24 hours to avoid getting CONCORDED when you attack the tower.
