I assume you mean video card memory and not the normal computer memory correct? Is there any kind of application we can use that will monitor this memory so we can see if that is the case?

I can think of one very easy solution...Fix the GORAM memory leak that is out of control since Crucible launched. Period.

Or, i don't know, maybe don't expect every one of your tens of thousands of customers to run out to electronics store every 3 months when the latest and greatest hardware comes out, b/c thats the only way to run a stable Eve client these days.

I kindof have somewhat the latest and greatest (GTX 560) and it still happens. If I run with Opt for performance and don´t touch AA (leaving if off), it seems to be stable. Poor solution for a leak, though.

This stuff is still happening for my client, after about I think 2 or 3 hours of playing the game with all the settings on HIGH.

I have a GTX570 Card.

Only fix that I have working is putting everything on low, If time permits I may start going thru one by one of the graphics options and seeing which are causing the issue.

So it went from when Warping thru a GATE the Client use to crash after a couple of hours.... to now Warping / Undocking the graphics bugg out and having to restart client.

Well this isnt good ..

I get sometimes "low" fps on one client while the other one still runs ok, and with the latest patch i get graphical errors too.
On the client with agro fps drops. I think that those brackets are magical Roll
In big fleet figths (like 400 ppl) everything is ok until they start shooting, fps drops a lot.
Same setting for both clients.

Now I am starting to see why this has been going on. I had not been able to put my finger on what happend. They patched this game, it started stressing and then killed my old video card, and now it crashes my new one. Fantastic.

Hi!

We have looked at this issue for quite some while and we currently assume, that this is caused by running out of memory for creating new textures (as far as I understood it - it is not really my area of expertise). We further assume, that these graphical issues happen now, when in earlier times the client just crashed (as it failed to allocate more memory). At the moment we are not seeing any easy solution for it, but we will continue to investigate it

Workarounds: a) Reduce your graphic settings
b) Restart your client, if you are starting getting problems

Btw: It might be a very good idea to reduce your anti-aliasing setting, if it is set to high. This setting was not working correctly in earlier earlier releases and it is fixed now, which also causes a significantly higher video memory usage

Please reply to this thread and / or write bugreports with further details, if you find / know anything, which might help us to improve (or even fix) this problem.

Microsoft Application Verifier

find your memory leak

[though.. i'm not sure if appverif has leak detection for D3D texture allocs .. but it should detect the handle leaks if you're loosing track of the memory that way IIRC]

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

This happened to me earlier after a bunch of hours playing. Also on a 560. I've seen the glitch where certain things turn white (gates), but this time all of space got kind of pink as well:

It would suck to have this happen during a roam or other attention-critical situation >.>

Most annoying thing of the week: You failed to dock/jump because you are cloaked (in your Deep Space Transport).

This is exactly the same behaviour I get. Aggro means lag til it even freezes, while the other client is not freezing up at all. The more NPC's are killed (and thus aggro gets less) the less lagg I experience.
As I posted in another thread when I get so much aggro my (Grpahics) memory is almost all in use (seen on MSI afterburner displayed on G15 LCD).

I am also experiencing some weird gfx errors. for instance when i am dual boxing and mining, itll run super awesome, that is untill i warp one of the chars to the PoS - when the PoS shield has to be loaded, the game will slow down to like 2 fps and display ridiculous gfx errors untill it has finished loading. It's near impossible to take a screenshot of :/ (trust me have tried)

ive got a pretty beefy machine
core i7 2600k
8gb ram
gtx 580 (3gb model)

The client never uses all my ram, nor my vRam - so im pretty sure its not a problem on my end
My CPU lies safely under 60degrees celcius
My GPU lies safely under 70degres celcius

You did a great job fixing bugs this xmas CCP - now how about fixing the client itself?
Maybe start by implementing proper vsync and/or fixing memory leaks? :P

About 3-4 hours in jita watching ships blow up, & ive been getting massive white waves appear. Even the tactical overlay white.screened half the space i was occupying.

& im on i7 2600k
16 GB RAM
GTX 580
Win 7 64

All maxed settings.

G
Turning each one of the settings to med/low/off either didnt work so i couldnt narrow it down. Rebooting the client DID fix it though....

Same problems here as everyone else is experiencing

1. After a certain amount of time, usually after an undock or stargate jump, graphical glitches
2. Just now got a "tan" "sandy" colored space
3. Planets look different, like they lost all shading effects and they're orange and white
4. The jumping stargate animation bubble looks strange and poorly shaded
5. Sun doesn't have any effect before it used to blind me
6. Starmap is completely black with only white dots, where normally i get all the colored lines and colored dots

I can fix it with a client restart but that's not a long term solution.
I just noticed my video card fan spin up way beyond it's normal speed when i entered captains quarters, I have it set to vsync so it never gets that high...

All these grafix glitches and dropouts started occuring for me after the last major Crucible update and have intensified exponentialy since the Escalation update. Escalation indead. I don't think it's a video memory problem as Dev says because it can happen to me as soon as I first login after a fresh reboot. I have even resorted to adjusting the ingame grafix to the lowest possible setting to no avail. Sometimes I even have to restart my client three or four times before it is momentarily stable. But as soon as I exit a station or go through a jump gate then that could be the end of it. Before this last update I had no problems at all running 3 clients on my main computer. But now I'm flat out running one client for a short period before a restart. I can't mine, I can't mission, I can't go anywhere. This is absolutely appalling and disgraceful.
The one common theme that keeps coming up in most of the posts here is 64bit Windows. I can confirm that this is the likely problem as I run one of my toons on my laptop which has 32bit Windows Vista and there is no problem at all. The way things are Eve is almost unplayable for me at the moment and I have been playing for four and a half years. Very sad that CCP don't seem to be too interested in fixing this problem. I'm getting this too. It seems to have got worst since yesterday when I downloaded the latest driver for AMD Catalyst/NVidia graphics card. ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 series.

Same here but only from running one client. I also have 64bit windows 7. CCP how about you guys concentrate on how the client is reacting to the OS. The problem may well be in there since it seems all of these problems occur mostly on 64 bit Operating systems.

Same here, NVidia or AMD gfx, makes no difference, they both do it. Windows 7 x64 on both machines.

To the dev who replied :

My client didn't crash prior to Inferno Escalation; it doesn't crash now; it does display graphical artifacts.

Oh and on Saturday night the tactical overlay had what looked like co-ordinates on it rather than distance markers. Then it turned into a solid white disc and stayed like that.

Its not a memory leak, or if it is then its a new one introduced by Crucible. Its nothing to do with AA as I don't run it for Eve anyway.

I'd say that at least a dozen people on the Saturday night roam I was on had the same/similar symptoms.

I suggest you make some sort of effort to fix it rather than implying its always been a problem, which of course it hasn't.
