I'm having compatibility issues as well, running 64 bit win 7. I was able to start the game using EveFile.exe in the bin folder yesterday. But today its showing the compatibility error now. Tried running repair, but it didn't help.

Hi, I‘m CCP TopKnot, one of the tallest and hairiest employees of CCP. My team, the Core Infrastructure team, is arguably the most productive team in CCP, baking-wise. When we are not busy baking delicious treats, we work on the installers, patches and the Repair Tool. Recently, we put out a devblog about the generic patches and the multi payload installer. Our recent work in this area has been done with the goal in mind of bringing all these things together in a simple package in order to make your EVE-playing life easier. Introducing the EVE Launcher...<<<<<< just saw this.... and if this is his idea of hard work he failed. This launcher has made me want to leave eve. it simply does not work. EVERY patch now i have to download entire game. ONLY response i get from ccp is Form letters telling me where this patch is. which ends up telling me Target payload not found. my idea on this top stick to baking treats leave programing alone for a while. you guys broke a game that worked fine for me.

Having issues with the most recent patch today. It worked when I launched from the bin folder but it reset my client to windowed mode for some reason. The error I am getting after running the repair tool is...

Your EVE client installation may have been modified, damaged or corrupt files. Please run repair.exe located in the EVE game directory or re-install the game client.

Having been unable to play game since the patch, finally got it working yesterday after uninstalling ESET Smart Security 5 and updating the game. Played for a couple of hours.

Logged in today, the launcher "updated" when I ran it and I now get the "Unsupported 16 bit Application" error people highlighted earlier.

Repair tool runs fine with no problems.

Basically it seems like my launcher version has been updated to something that Windows 7 (i'm on 64 bit) refuses to run.

Any help appreciated.

Edit:

Uninstalling ESET again has had no effect. Launcher, eve, safe mode etc, will not work at all.

Yep, same ****, different day... I fixed it with this yesterday, but now that doesn't work either. Getting tired of my launcher breaking! I'm using Windows 7 x64 as well.

Seriously... this is more annoying than any glitch that could exist in the game, but if there are glitches in the game I wouldn't know because I can't play it right now!

Arguing with strangers on the internet is a sucker's game because they inevitably turn out to be, or are indistinguishable from, self-righteous sixteen-year-olds possessing infinite amounts of free time.

Windows 7 64bit patch failed like the rest. I did the repair tool in the eve folder but it failed too however, when I launch eve.exe now directly from the eve/bin folder it comes up.

Exact same issue.... Also x64.

Was working fine yesterday morning, then today its a no go.

This is actually the first time I've ever had a problem running the client since 2006.

Started it up a little bit ago, it patched, then gave me a launcher exception error.

Run the repair tool.... Success...

Started it up --- Launcher updating... Success

EVE Online Launcher Exception - Please run repair tool

Rinse and repeat

Also should say that as mentioned above, I can get the client to run ONLY through bypassing the launcher in the using the exe in the /bin directory.

Launcher however will not run no matter how many repairs, and reinstalls take place.

I can't even post the error apparently. What the hell?! The Eve sites give me an "Oops" page when I try to post the damn error msg. Great I can't even file a petition.

I'm cancelling my subscription if this isn't solved by the time it runs out.

Once again I had to find "another way" to patch game without Launcher, that didn't started after update.

Launch this: Games\EVE Online\bin\ExeFile.exe
The EVE will launch and update itself to normal version with fine working Launcher.

Guys, are u testing ur patches before giving away?

U know that this year is granting some nice online games: Diablo3, then GW2, then ArcheAge :) If u keep that **** with Launcher u will lose more subscribers than u think now.

I tried that but it said something about failing to create a shortcut.

For those of you who are experiencing this issue, delete the Launcher folder manually under C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE or where you have EVE installed. Then run the repair tool.

If there is something preventing you from running the repair tool, such as firewall or antivirus program, then I am afraid that you might need to download the full installer and reinstall the game.

Were you starting EVE as an administrator?

Yeah, I tried it. Same thing. Error trying to create a shortcut. And after that the launcher error came up again.

I downloaded the actual patch manually as well, but have no way to use it since the launcher also did the manual patching, and the launcher no longer works.

I hate this.
