Burn Jita will not be a success in my eyes unless the number of rage/qq posts in local exceeds the number of scam posts.

Healthier secondary trade hubs means more niches for the smaller traders to get a foothold into the market.

Or more reasons for the big traders to move in and crush all the little people

If the casual buyers are smart, they already moved to another hub long ago. If not, they'll learn awful fast.

My personal hope is that Jita just becomes another hub - all four becoming more equal to each other (yes, I'm implying that Dodixie finally gets first-class status).

@ corestwo - valid point. My previous experience with SL makes me think (if Sony was behind some of this) that you're in for an interesting time. GL with your guys efforts, I had enough of that back with y'all in SL so I'll just sit back and grab some popcorn this time.

Edit: I take it all back :D Wow, just the threat from Goon makes the marked go sky hi. Man, this has to be one my
better days in EVE, 6 mil in profit for one day, again thank you xxx

Burning ships and Jita is really good for business, is actually a massive boost to economy, cant wait to see it happen! *gently petting the wallet*
I hope is not only a bad joke or bluff, that will badly hurt a lot of business plans.

1800 tornados = 150-180 dead freighters Pirate

for smaller stuff... u dont need tornados...

Thus far, the only significant effect I've seen is that the market in lonetrek is booming. I'm turning a healthy profit without having to get within 2 jumps of Jita.

Interestingly we are still seeing a sharp drop in mineral prices, so station traders are still confident and happy to continue business as usual despite any nice fireworks display going on outside the undock.

Volume of those mins moved per day has dropped sharply over the past two days.

Large volumes of highly researched Ammo, drones, charges and ship bpo's. Biggest BPO store in EVE! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=445524#post445524

Volumes decreased not only for minerals, but also for a lot of other industrialists goods (especially small ones, i.e. freighter-transferred). As of ammunition, the numbers are a bit controversal. It seems that some usual freights were at least postponed.

+ please bear in mind that several countries have a public holiday and long weekend (time for travel and IRL fun).

Burn Jita isn't working so far, I'm still easily selling stuff in the station as people continue to buy regularly.

The holidays are meaningless. As an indicator, here is Zydrine these past few days, with a few days beforehand as comparison.

And here is Zydrine around Christmas 2011.

A large drop, sure, but a single day, despite the fact that many would be traveling before & after.

Memorial day.

A popular travel holiday in the USA. No drop whatsoever.

So you're one of the idiot clowns who read about burn jita and decided that our goal was to completely shut down all traffic then?

If anything the price spikes will happen once over, orders are down almost a third, with volume dropping even less, all the people who were going to buy will most likely do so once Jita is normal again.

Exactly. There's all kinds of pent up demand right now, and a probable outcome once people feel like they can start buying again is that the market pops like a zit and we get a few days of 2-3x normal volume.

Many producers like myself didn't have the isk to stockpile billions of isk worth of minerals/components to keep the assembly lines going or they were too conservative to gamble on committing a weeks worth of resources to a certain item that may no longer be profitable whenever Burn Jita ends.

The end result is that our goods that finished during Burn Jita are sitting in a station somewhere waiting to be hauled into Jita for sale. Once this happens I think we'll see a huge run on components and minerals as everyone buys up stock to ship back to their production homes for their next production cycle. Freight services are going to be absolutely blasted in the days following Burn Jita.

As an example of how the market has been effected, in the T2 component I'm currently selling, volume dropped to 740 yesterday compared to it's normal range of around 2000-4000. However, it's back up to normal numbers today as everyone starts to chatter about Burn Jita being over.

CFC spent approximately 182 billion isk and achieved approximately 515b isk in damage. These numbers are from eve-kill and are somewhat corrected where necessary - for example, eve-kill undervalues freighters and significantly undervalues jump freighters. There were also the usual "were those BPOs or BPCs?" that had to be accounted for - I'm sure everyone saw the infamous half trillion isk freighter, although it's now been API corrected and the 200 covertor prints are now copies.

A brief breakdown by ship types.

26 Exhumers. This counts only ones killed in and immediately around Jita.
57 Freighters. Freighters accounted for the lion's share of destruction - a total of 258.5 billion isk.
14 Jump Freighters
97 Tech 1 industrials. This category includes Noctii, of which quite a few died. The average loss of a kill in this category was 157.8 million isk.
25 Tech 2 industrials. The average loss of a kill in THIS category was 495.9 million isk, over three times that of Tech 1 indies, although it was surely skewed upwards by this fellow.
24 battleships. Most of these were war targets, but there were four people flying around in pimped out faction battleships, as well as one pilot who tried a supertanked abaddon to move his LP store loot.
7 pilots of Tech 3 ships were killed. All were war targets; one also lost his 2b isk Slave implanted pod.
A total of 428 implanted pods died, approximately 50.3 billion worth. The average cost of a pod was 117.5 million isk; the most expensive pod was this guy, who's freighter was one of our less notable kills. Maybe he thought the slave set would keep him intact; unfortunately for him, we're not Niarja gankers out to maximize profit and thus overkill was the name of the game.
