Congratulations CCP great job =D

EDIT:

Repair tool used and a ton of missing blocks, ending up with me downloading a 292mb worth of files

Very good job CCP.

For me patch is exactly 292.76 MB.

So you only needed to launch repair.exe to go around broken launcher, and you didn't need to download anything extra -- it seems to work really nicely. Big smile

For me today "Play" button in Eve Launcher acted more like "Please i want BSoD".

Game is still crashed after that (4th repair tool run is underway and it's downloading those 292MB).

Yeah, 4th repair tool failed (although it says it was succesful).

Game still broken ;/

im getting the following error:

restarted, turned anti virus stuff all off. same error.

- Seems that turning the anti virus off, isn't the way to go. Delete the application, restart, install client. Works.

Dunno if it's just me, but has anyone noticed very long delay when trying to dock and once docked how the station services panel can take over a minute to appear, guess they wanted session timers anyway.

Anyone else lost a Charon??

The repair tool seeing a ton of missing blocks on patch day is quite common - it's downloading the patch Big smile

Too many Minecraft players is the cause of that.

I think it is rather idiotic that a person can come to the conclusion that "CCP ****** up" because they have a problem with the program even though the vast majority of players have no issues. I mean seriously...does anybody ever stop and think..."maybe I have been browsing too much porn." or perhaps "Perhaps it is time to clean up my OS to prevent file corruption."?

Do people litterally freak out and blame the devs for something that can't possibly be within their control? Of course they do.

Having the same issue here. But it's not just the avcodec-53.dll file. If you hit ignore it's most of them that it can't write.

I doubt it's CCP though. Most likely something wrong with my files. Shall run a repair see if it helps.

As did I but I found the fix. not sure if it was previously posted but for anyone getting errors Don't bother with the update via the client. Close eve and do a Repair. It will shows as a 290+ mb patch. Will run for 30 mins or so. Let it fix and it will work.

In case no one has suggested :

  • I had the LAUNCHER already opened on my desktop from the night before. (Sleep mode)
  • I hit PLAY.
  • The updater started at SIGN IN screen.
  • I hit OK and it took me back to desktop to install.
  • I then get the avcodec-53 error.
  • I then closed the LAUNCHER and restarted it.
  • The update started when the LAUNCHER opened and the patch installed.
  • Logged in and played the game. No problems.

The problem was the launcher just needed to be restarted. Well, at least that's how I fixed it for me.

Do a full filesystem check, bet it finds errors on your drive Blink

Seriously? You'd rather got through all that trouble than to simply download it for 2 mins? EVE may not be for you sir. God forbid you have to train 'Spaceship Command 2'
