Eve Launcher, v1.11 doesn't

I have tried to Repair and run all of the .exe files (normal and safe mode) but no matter what I do I can't launch Eve,

I click on the PLAY button and then I get the Crucible splashscreen for a few seconds and now I am back at the Launcher.

Any ideas?

This sounds like a cache problem. It could be the Launcher cache being corrupted or the EVE client settings being corrupted.

Try clearing the cache of the Launcher first as it doesn't matter much:

1. Go into the directory of the eve client
2. Open Launcher\Cache
3. Delete all files
4. Click Play

If that doesn't work, try clearing out the EVE client cache/settings:

1. Open the Settings (click the small spanner and screwdrivers at the top)
2. Go to the EVE Client Settings tab
3. Click the two "Clear" buttons next to the Settings and Cache.

Does that resolve this issue?

Nothing worked in my case. I cleared the cache and the launcher downloaded an update for itself and nothing happens afterwards. I've tried many things and nothing worked.

But then I checked the log file in the launcher cache and found one line:

updater.exe /path="C:\USB\Games\EVE Online" /url="http://cdn1.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/launcherUpdateData/launcherupdate_1_31.dat" /execute=launcher.exe /args

I've executed this line manually (you need to change the paths) and I got asked for admin rights. After accepting, the update was executed and now everything ist working. Big smile

Launcher is a good idea but its full of bugs.. Please remove this feature until its fully optimized, i cant play for 3 days and counting because of it.

Is this CCPs great idea of doing stuff? I tried running Lanucher / without launcher /Repairing /Rerunning / Safe mode. Nothing works. Vivoxsdk.dll verification failed error. Before that dumb update game worked fine and now on launch it says its corrupt and i should reinstall it all. Do you really think i download for a few hours and then install the game again only to do it a few days later after another dumb patch? Thanks CCP but this way you just making it easier for me to unsub.

Fix your damn QA department and if you can't then bleed subs until you find a way to fix QA.

Edit: Restart of computer solved that one.

CCP what about adding in your updates a popup that machine should be restarted afterwards. Would save A LOT of time.

Don't let them fly safe!

They are worried about a boot.ini again?

I had this with a fresh install and the launcher cache needed to be deleted three or four times before it would fire up properly. I would have deleted the game cache but there wasn't one yet so not sure that forms part of the solution to be honest?

Also haven't been able to log on for 3 days. At least before launcher there was a decent chance a Eve reinstall would get you back in game. Now your just SOL.
