Jeremy Tacs Agent in Mandoo

Hi, just spend some time reading all i could find about this so called "jeremy tacs" agent.

Now, let me share some thoughts about it...

First of all, i like the fact that there are some rare agents/missions that reward you with possible/certain, way above the regular, valuable loot, things like the Michi and Akemon implants are great quests and should stay as long as they are a one time only to be done. So i heard this Jeremy mission can have the boss droping loot otherwise only found in 0.0 exploration/escalation...as far as i'm concerned...GREAT, as it is a one time only mission.

What i also found out is that it is a very easily ninja'ed mission, and a decent prober and some friends, can ruin your day, by probing you down and stealing the loot and mission item ( now that unprobable T3 are removed, i guess the old thieves are back in business ) ... so, for something that its supposed to be a one time only reward, CCP somehow managed to make it a infinite possible reward as long as there people trying to run that mission...sad right?

More so, if you know the story behind Jeremy Tacs, which i found also today, and you all can read about it here http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=385957
It is somehow sad that a agent created in the name of a pilot who spended his eve life helping others without asking for nothing in return, who sadly passed away, is now a paradise for griefers, who actually are being rewarded by doing so, and have been for past the years...i say that something must have to be done.

My very first idea to solve this is quite simple, just make a little change in the mission, having Jeremy give the missioner a gate key that will exclusively work on that mission, not consumed on activation that later will be just one more rare item like the hundreds that exist in eve universe ( the item name should have a brief discription related to Jeremy himself ( the real person))
IT SHOULD ONLY WORK ON THAT MISSION otherwise the griefers could easily create throw away toons just to get keys and keep doing what they do.

Any thoughts?

PS- Most of the information a gathered was written before the unprobable nerf patch, so i really don't know how the mechanics regarding this mission are now...so if something has already been done all this wall of text was unecessary.

Your proposal is very good and should be implemented by CCP asap.

Was sad reading that old forum thread.

Talking about this with a friend he sugested an even easier idea to implement, not so grief-proof, but easy to get around using the brain, with a friend or two...make the mission spawn anywhere ( high sec ) in the constelation or even region.

So easy, and it would make justice to the name of a pilot who played to help others, and has his name now, attached to a grief mechanic, that not only ruins those who try to make the mission, but also rewards countless times those who exploit this.

I have no issues with ninjas, griefing, i even think that theres a sweet irony in this to happen, cause it really describes what eve is...but on this specific case, i think that Jeremy's mission should represent the other good side of eve. And i think CCP should do something about it, and not leave it as it is.

If they wanted to do something that good...at least do it right!

I agree with the Op

After reading the backstory, i think ccp should do something special for this mission thus treating the memory of Jeremy with respect.

Good post.

just dropping by to inform you that the mission is currently disabled by CCP

i tried him last week and today, quickly paging a GM because of no mission offer, he told me the mission is currently disabled.

Hmmm...interesting...but are they going to fix it by using the easy way, just removing it, or are they actually going to do something about it...

I hope they dont simply remove it, cause its backstory is really great, and it's those little things that stay eternal, that make this game so special.

The agent was disabled after a method for farming the mission for faction gear and Machariel BPC's was posted sometime last week. Thread was quickly deleted ofc
