Ship storing within force field, without being in the owning corp or alliance

So the tower setting has "enable use for corp and alliance members"

But howbout totally external guys? I have a mate storing a couple of ships within my force field using the PW. The PW how ever resets at every DT. When the guy logs in, the ship he's in gets bounced off the POS.

Does this happen to his other, unpiloted ship sitting within the POS shield as well?

If so, how can this be avoided?

Only happens to non-corp/alliance members (based on your settings). If they have to type in the password they will get bounced.

And just wanted to point out that for your members protection they shouldn't be logging out while in a POS. If they login after the POS has been destroyed, replaced with an aggressive POS, while under siege, etc they could be in for a very bad surprise.

The best solution is to always have 1 ship you store your main don't want to lose items in, warp to a safe spot away from the POS and logout. This way your stuff will be saved if the POS is lost, and pilots won't be destroyed when auto warping back to POS at login

If you have someone from the corp (or alliance if they are allowed in the force field) board the ship after you leave it, then the ship will stay.

Ships don't have the force field password, pilots do, so hence the ship will otherwise be ejected if the ownership isn't acceptable.

And there isn't anything more horrifying than seeing your Chimera bounced out of a force field and having to chase after it. Fun times...

So if someone from corp & alliance hops in it and out, the ship will stay in the shield?

Thanks guys. Much appreciated. Take a like.

Yes. Boarding a ship gives ownership, which will prevent the ship from being ejected if boarded by someone with access. Requires that the control tower force field is set to allow corp or alliance members.

However it might get bumped-out by another ship. I had to chase-down my Rorqual, when a Chimera accidentally bounced off the control tower then hit my Rorqual which was a good distance away.

At a POS, I recommend logging-out in capitals, and using a hangar for subcapitals. I don't like advertising.
