Production POS questions

I'm wanting to set up a production POS, however, i'm not looking forward to the logistics of keeping each individual array fed with its own supply of minerals. I've read some on 'couplers' but when i tried to use them, it seems impractical to use for regular production since one would have to set up a coupler for each type of needed material.

Is there any way to set up the POS in a way in which you don't have to keep feeding each individual array by itself. Any way to get them to maybe grab what they need from an anchored corp hanger?

It is just not going to be fun splitting umpteen stacks of each material to go into each array...then keeping track of which array needs more of which particular material after being used for a bit.

Alot of the "POS Guides" i've seen so far just reiterate the same 'info' that is on in-game description...

Thanks for the help.

If you don't want to manage the raw mats for multiple arrays then do it all in-station. Easy. I think the whole "coupling" thing worked with moon mining some time back, but I don't do moon mining, so that's all just speculation on my part.

Short answer "no". If you just want a bit slush pile of materials and BPCs/BPOs, then use station slots.

The best move with POS arrays is to come up with a plan, then stock inputs to meet that plan. For instance, setup (2) arrays to make modules of type X, another (2) arrays to make modules of type Y.

Use a tool like jEVEAssets to track what you have in each array and what your target levels are.

If you limit what types of items can be made in a particular array, then you'll only have to restock 1-2 times per week.

Keep all your blueprints and materials in one big lump and move it all around to one array at a time when starting new jobs, no need to keep it apart.
Materials and blueprints are only taken when the job starts so after that you can move it all to the next one.

^Doesn't work so well if doing remote jobs...in 8 different arrays...

Anyways, i spent today just crunching numbers on how much of what i'll need for each type of array. Thanks Bob for that suggestion to isolate each array to particular items, so simple i didn't even think about it.

Part of me wished these things could hold more materials, but looking at the cost to fill each array, i'm glad they are the sizes they are.

We'll see how well this pans out after a few weeks, if it gets to be too much of a headache, i'll just switch back to in station (between my accounts i use more than half the station's slots) and deal with randomly waiting up to 1 day.

I use the POS arrays as "overflow" production or simply use them for the multi-day builds. Probably 1/3 to 3/4 of my builds I do in station slots. I also dedicate different stations to different types, just like I dedicate arrays to different types of production. If the station slots are too full in my primary station, I use some slots in one of the secondary stations. If all of those are in use as well, then I spin up the POS array slots.
