Whats a good, cheap setup for a Blackbird if I'm gonna run lvl2-3 missions? I've got 3 Ion blasters I on it right now, but their range is pretty low.

The Blackbird is not a good mission-running ship. Its role is providing ECM support, not being a main combat ship, and it sort of sucks at everything except ECM (which it is great at).

Try a Moa or a Caracal. Both of those are actual combat cruisers.

Ah, got ya, I got bad info then. In that Case, what would you recommend as a good fit for the either of those?

The Caracal is somewhat better for missions, as it can keep range better and apply damage regardless of range(up to its max range) because it uses missiles . Try something like this:

Quote:

[Caracal, L2/3 T1 Missoner]

Experimental SV-2000 Rapid Light Missile Launcher, Scourge Light Missile
Experimental SV-2000 Rapid Light Missile Launcher, Scourge Light Missile
Experimental SV-2000 Rapid Light Missile Launcher, Scourge Light Missile

Experimental 10MN Afterburner I
Large Azeotropic Ward Salubrity I
Large Azeotropic Ward Salubrity I
Limited Adaptive Invulnerability Field I
Limited Adaptive Invulnerability Field I

Muon Coil Bolt Array I
Muon Coil Bolt Array I

Medium Bay Loading Accelerator I
Medium Warhead Calefaction Catalyst I
[Empty Rig slot]

Warrior II x2

The Moa can be decent, too:
Quote:
[Moa, L2/3 T1 Missoner]

200mm Compressed Coil Gun I, Antimatter Charge M
200mm Compressed Coil Gun I, Antimatter Charge M
200mm Compressed Coil Gun I, Antimatter Charge M

Experimental 10MN Afterburner I

Damage Control I
Magnetic Field Stabilizer I
Magnetic Field Stabilizer I
Tracking Enhancer I

Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Medium Core Defense Field Extender I
Medium Core Defense Field Extender I

Warrior II x3

Better damage and tank, but shorter range and slower.

These ships will do just fine in L2 missions. In L3s though, you might get overwhelmed and might have to go for a Ferox or a Drake. I don't know very well, since I have never missioned much

Heh, I haven't thought about it in ages, but I did L2s in a Blackbird for a while. Good memories - thanks. :)

Ed: I ended up switching out for a smartbombing 3 light drone Moa for "ripping those missions up". Lol

I'm an idiot, don't mind me.

I like this Moa, but a Moa can not support 5 (200mm Compressed Coil Gun I) AND a (Experimental 10MN Afterburner I). Any suggestions?

I haven't run it through a fit tool or anything but replace one of the lows (either the DC or a mag stab) with a Type-D Power Core Modification or a Local Power Plant Manager (the meta 1/2 Power Diagnostic Systems). The PDS will give you 5% more grid which might fix your fitting problems. I think that the extra shield HP you get from the PDS will make up for the tank you lose from the loss of the DC, so that would be what I would try.

I played around with it a little in EFT - the PDU for DC swap will allow this to fit with Engineering V and Advanced Weapon Upgrades 3.
