Trying to calculate Missile Range

So i am using Scourge Heavy Missile its range stats are:
Max flight time: 10.00s
Max velocity: 3.750 m/sec

So if missile range is Max flight time multiplied by Max velocity, the Scourge Heavy Missile has 37500m of range which equals 37.5km, however i am hitting my targets at a range of 65+km how is this possible? what numbers am i missing in my calculation? does the missile launcher (Malkuth Heavy missile launcher 1 in my case) influence the maximum range of the missile? could it be that my trained skills on missiles dont show up directly on the missiles info page, where do i get the correct values then?

My max targeting range is 66.13km and im hitting my targets at that distance already with a missile that suposedly only has 37.5km range.

What am i missing?

Are you checking the missiles in your inventory or when they are fitted?
Check them when they are fitted so your bonuses apply.

Are you checking the missiles in your inventory or when they are fitted?

This, looking just at the show info on a module / ammo doesn't take into account your skills and ship bonuses.

It has to be fitted (loaded for ammo) before your skills / bonuses apply. Looking at show info on your stuff in your cargohold, market etc just gives you the base stats of items (for scourge heavy missiles it's 37.5km range)

EDIT:

You don't have to calculate missiles range, Tactical overlay gives you a sphere of what your missiles can hit if you hover over them.

And if you did some bit of research, you would have seen there was already a similar post on this forum about the same, but as you are new, I won't nag to much about it.

You also have to take into consideration your skills.

Missile Bombardment - 10% bonus to missile maximum flight time per level (more flight time = longer distance)
Missile Projection - 10% bonus to maximum missile velocity per level (faster velocity + longer flight time = longer missile range)

Once you add the bonuses up and then add in any ship bonuses such as Caracal's 10% bonus to Light, Heavy Assault and Heavy Missile Velocity, you can get some awesome distances.

My other combat character files a Tengu and has 107KM t1 heavy missile range and isn't fully L5 in relevant missile skills but has implants to work around that issue

Scourge HM has 3750 m/s velocity and 10 second flight time.
Add Missile Bombardment L5 and thats 50% added flight time or an extra 5 seconds. That extends range to 56.250 km at 3750 m/s at 15 seconds flight time
Add Missile Projection at L5. that adds 50% speed or an extra 1725 m/s to your missile velocity bringing it to 5475 m/s

5475 m/s * 15 seconds = 82.125km flight range at L5 skills with an unbonused ship using just those 2 skills.

Then you can add more distance and speed by adding rigs to you ship such as Hydraulic Bay Thrusters, Rocket Fuel Cache partitions.

The you can also add in Implants for whatever you want, be it range, velocity DPS or whatnot.

There si a LOT of stuff you can do to add DPS, range and velocity to your missiles.
