EVE Online: Escalation to Inferno Issues

OK, so far so good, ran launcher on Laptop (wireless connection), launcher updated fine, downloaded patch, also updated client fine, saved patch to flash drive and used it to update all other clients on laptop (1) and game tower (2). All windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. All clients installed in their own folders on separate drive partitions (not drive C:).

However, sounds are, as reported elsewhere, very quiet, this seems to relate to you changing the splash screen Muzak from playing directly as the splash screen is displayed (as on SiSi), to attaching it to the music volume control in the [Esc] menu.
On SiSi this Muzak was much louder than the in game sounds and I wonder because the client sound system has to compensate for the higher volume, the rest of the sounds have been lowered. Just a thought.

Also is it possible, just to make things simpler for multi client users, could you add a feature to the launcher to have a user selectable default folder location for the patch file. This would make it much easier to find the file for saving and for other launchers to load and enable users with home networks to download the file to a network storage device for everyone to use.

Not sure if this is reported..

The HUD is incorrectly displaying "no skills in queue" with blank progress bar since the patch.

Loading the skill training window resets the HUD to the correct information, however subsequently loading into another screen (PI for example I have seen this) then back to the station makes the HUD revert back to the incorrect behaviour.

I have also noticed that some third party tools are having issues reporting on skills in training as well (via API keys). Two examples are EVEMon and Aura (for Android). These tools are reporting as having no skills in training but then are correct after I load the skill training window (via the EVE client) and they refresh. If I then repeat the issue these tools also revert to the incorrect no skills in training message soon after.

Before the patch I had Electronics training to V with a few hours left. Since the patch I have added Engineering to V to the queue and applied the change to see if it helped but the above behaviour continues. I also did not receive any errors during patching. Using Windows 7 32bit, can also test on a 64bit machine if required. Big smile

Small issue compared to some peoples I'm sure, but since I've installed the update (which went reasonably smoothly)my Tengu insists on flying backwards Shocked. Tried clearing cache but hasn't had any effect. Any ideas ?

Non-Corp Fleet members still can not open my Orca corp bay!! They can not find it in the menu list.

After the Escalation to Inferno patch, very few numbers are showing up correctly. Instead of showing my Wallet size as "7 000 000 000" it shows up as "7 ISK".
It seems that the client is truncating numbers to first delimiter or decimal sign in all numbers.
Take for example "123 m" shows correctly, since it has no thousand unit delimiter while, "1,5 AU" will show up in overview as "1", without a unit marker nor the value after a comma.

the patch file get's to about 166mb, no bigger, have ample disk space.

I've deleted the temp patch file, restarted the process a number of times and each time keeps on resetting the connection at around 75%.

my connection's stable and have no other connection speed issue. i've also noticed that just before it resets (at around 72%) the dl speed slow dramatically.

The repair is fun, I get an error msg, I restarting again, repair again, there is the log:

And I realised, that there can be some character coding problems too, cos my username in this macheen contains "ö" but the repair crate a new user folder whith "ö". I check this in other user but still bugged.

Can we get a new version of repair.exe?

This still isn't fixed???

I just logged in to try and and its still broken.

Corp 1, is in an Orca with the ship configured to allow Fleet/Corp Member Usage, Corp 2 (in fleet) still can't open the Corp Hanger on the Orca. Come on CCP. Neither Toons are in NPC Corps.

Do they refund subscription money? I'm not reinstalling this game again. For the past two days I have spent more time figuring out how to launch the game than actually playing it. Please tell me that all of these inconveniences are caused by your 24/7 development of DUST 514...or some other grand project (new eve online launcher). I get it, sometimes things just don't work they way they are supposed, but at least post some functional temporary solutions, so people wont rage and troll in forums like I do right now. Why? Because I can't play the f'ing game that my dumb ass friend recommended to me. By the way, what's wrong with manual patching? Every self-respecting MMO out there employs it, but CCP must ***k it all up and do it their way? CCP, are you trolling us while charging money? Even the money grubbing $%#@ing Blizzard knows whats good for them when it comes to fixing problems like these...for two damn days I've been trying to do YOUR job of figuring out how to launch the game; not to mention that at this point I barely even got through 50% of your semi-okay tutorials. Either way, let's see how well your financial department will do this month, most people (especially COD fanboys like me) wont put up with this BS :D You should be thankful for having hardcore fans that look past your failures and keep paying to play the game! Man, I'm felling much better now...screw you CCP, I'll buy some Taco Bell next time I think about this game; while thinking "This reprocessed crap is actually more satisfying than my short-lived and extremely aggrevating trial with EvE Online."Evil

Please CCP - the launcher is not working. After running repair mine says: not compatible with 64-bit Windows?

I've raised 2 petitions in the past couple of weeks and a thread... but frankly you're losing another subscriber. The updater is broken; to put it another way: it doesn't work. And it doesn't look like I'm the only one.

For those guys who come back with "can I have your stuff?'. Well, no - I can't get into the game.

ok so still having problems installing patch as i was playing eve yesterday throw the .exe as i could not play throw luncher but now i have had a patch update and now it will not install thhat and i cant even play throw.exe anymore i am starting to get really **** off with this as now i can not play eve at all i have tryed repair again and it dos not work all i get is this message

so what the hell is going on it would not patch i reinstall 3 time yesterday but still did not work so had to play throw .exe and now thats not a op as i cant put in this update patch great

Tried the uninstall-reinstall approach because there's no sure kill like overkill, I'm seeing complaints that the other methods still aren't working, some have claimed that the uninstall-reinstall worked, and because letting something run for a few hours in the background while I study or clean up is far less stressful for me than screwing with directories and file names and looking for hidden folders and- God knows what else. Seriously, it might be simple enough to the average EVE player to screw with these things (I hear to no end from the players about how much better/smarter/cooler they are than those of other MMOs), but I am a self-admitted quasi-literate computer user.

Uninstall-reinstall failed, of course, or I wouldn't be posting here. I'm right back to the same issues of being unable to finish patching. What's the ETA on getting this fixed for the computer non-savvy folks? Is there an ETA in the first place? Light digs at the EVE culture aside, neither I nor the most tech-savvy players should have to do install acrobatics to make this game work. This is my last PLEX, ticking down, down, down...

Update: I tried an exercise in madness, uninstalled it a second time, reinstalled it a second time. Works now.

Thought that it might have been that I changed the setting whilst on grid or something, so after I filled the Orca and was about to come back from station I changed the Fleet member usage Setting prior to Warping, unfortunately it made no difference so you can cross that off the list of maybe work arounds.



@Greyscale or any GM/Dev, who feels able to answer: I see plenty of replies to the other issues (some of which beeing solved by now), but not this one and would like to know, if you did take notice of this problem?

well, after having the drama of the launcher not wanting to work to then the whole thing didnt due to my 64bit system, i bit the bullet and uninstalled eve...
now i can't install it.. the installer cant find the content in the payload so i try the manual way to get the same issue..
what am i supposed to do from there??

This appears to be a very specific problem with using a language like "Norsk (Bokmal)" on the Mac, the same language works fine on a Windows PC, for example. A possible workaround is to set your Mac's language to a language which does not expose this problem, for example English or German.
