hey everyone. is there any convenient way to find underpopulated systems? i know about DOTLAN but i have not found a function of sorting systems by jumps over there.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Look at the in game map?

Search for high sec pockets?

Go to null-sec? (lol)

Use the in game map, and then dotlan. Look at the following to narrow things down:

Pilots in system
Average pilot
Jumps
Kills

stop trolling. i was explicitly asking for a convenient way to find empty systems. if there is none, just tell me so instead of reiterating methods that i already mentioned in the OP.

Use the ingame map and set the filter for "jumps in the past hour" or "jumps in the past 24 hours".

If it shows nothing, it's backwater.

Define empty? If you mean no inhabitants or traffic, there is no such thing. Otherwise Dotlan and ingame map are convenient.

The other methods are convenient - at least, they have to be as there is no other way of finding out. How hard is it to open up the map? What more do you want? A button that you can press that says "Here you go M'lord, here are the deserted systems in which there are no other explorers/ratters and you can red cross to your heart's content"?

Actually, you could probably script one of those up from the same API pull that dotlan uses. Hmmm. Summer project ideas....

that is actually the reason why i was asking in the first place. throw in an external db that logs data and computes moving averages and there it is, a REALLY convenient source of quiet places to chill.

The systems you seek are usually low-pop because they are inconvenient. There's really no secret to identifying them as mentioned. High-sec islands, systems far from hubs, systems without nearby level four agents.

These things are pretty easy to spot with a glance at dotlan and a couple refreshes. If you have such a low threshold for effort perhaps the inconvenient systems aren't the best place for you to chill in.

Hey jerkwad! How is anyone trying to help, supposed to know what you find 'convenient' or not? I find the statistics in the star map pretty damn convenient.

What an entitled tool.

hey 'jerkwad'. if you find it convenient to go through the statistics by hand, you are probably autistic. how is "DO YOUR OWN WORK" helpful?

i highly doubt that finding all the low traffic systems in eve takes 10 seconds, especially if you are interested in activity over more than 24 hours.
