EVE Alliance Tournament Discussion

EVE TV is offering advertising space during its coverage of Alliance Tournament X due to be broadcasted live in July 2012. Your advert will be played before matches on the live stream final weekends of the tournament to an estimated 30,000+ live viewers at peak, over the course of the tournament you can expect exposure to hundreds of thousands unique viewers for your ad. Put your corporation, your web site, your capital ship trade business or any EVE related advert on the biggest ad space available.

As always there is no charge to run an player advert on EVE TV for the Alliance Tournament.


General Rules

• All video material must be Eve related!


• The item/service being advertised must be Eve related.


• The advert must be suitable for all ages.


• Content must be respectable (no attack ads) and suitable for broadcast.


• The quality of the advert must reflect positively on EVE itself, we will work with you on improving the quality of the video until we can accept it. The earlier you get in touch and send us material the more we will be able to advise you, the closer to the event we are the less time we will have to help you.

The deadline is July 9th, please do not leave it to the last moment in case we have to ask for changes to the video. We will not accept any entries after midnight on July 9th.


Technical Rules

• 1280x720 resolution with a 1:1 pixel aspect ratio, adverts will not be accepted in any other resolution. Video should not contain black bars either horizontal or vertical.


• 25 frames per second, adverts will not be accepted at any other frame rate.


• 15 Seconds long maximum (no shorter than 10 seconds), adverts will not be accepted if longer. This has changed from previous tournaments, please take note!


• We suggest the video is delivered as a Mov file with H.264 as a compressor at 15 to 20Mbps, WMV is also acceptable, MKV are not.


• Video quality is more important than small file size!

Any service being advertised must be free to players or accessed using in game currency. If you are interested in advertising a paid service or items not directly related to EVE please contact us at evetv@ccpgames.com to discuss becoming an official sponsor of the tournament.

Look at the adverts from last year. Do they really feel too long? 15s just doesn't reflect anything from eve. I guess we'r gonna see rushy stuff this year.

Its too easy to make 30 seconds really drag on and I could give you some good examples from previous years. 15 seconds is a nice amount of time to punch your message through before loosing peoples attention. Also from a bigger view point this is about cutting down the advert breaks so we can get into the action quicker when going from studio to a match.

Will enter somthing. (How will copyright for background music work? Do I have to come up with an original composition)

15 seconds may not seem like a long time but when your watching it or looking at the watch it seems to last longer. I make some vids for my youtube chan sometimes and when putting in the edits its amazing how much you can get into those few seconds.

Ok lets make a compromise as I do see the points some people are bringing up.

After submitting your 15 second ad, based on the quality of the video you may be invited to make a 30 second cut.

• This is by invitation only, you must first prepare an acceptable 15 second advert.
• Pointing me to previous videos you have done will not count.
• This will only be for the very best adverts, around the top 20%.
• I do realize turning 15 seconds into 30 is not ideal and you may have to start from scratch, it's your choice if you want to go for it.
• The 30 second cut will be rarely shown and most likely kept for the final Sunday as a "special" advert, your 15 second ad will play as normal.
• Its even more important that you send your 15 second ad in early so there is time to review it and for you to work on the extended version.
• There is no guarantee after excepting your 15 second ad that your 30 second ad will be accepted.

Most importantly I need to stress that any invitation will be based purely on the quality of the video, your alliance or service will have no effect on any decision, nor will your previous work.

Can I submit a "FREE HYDRA" advert?

Keeping it to bang on 15 seconds, interesting and identifying what/who it is about is still very challenging - are adverts that creep over that going to be immediately dismissed, or would they at least be given consideration?

CCP; if there are 30 second adds running please use the 15 second adds as well, as the variation helps keep it interesting.
