Personally the more I learn about James Cameron, the more I admire him. When he sets a goal nothing stops him. He's also been in a project to re-engineer the age old deep sea submersible which is supposed to be 17% stronger, have 5% more room for the passengers, and last 11 hours longer than the current model. It appears that nothing is out of his reach.

First point I like to make is that government agiencies are not allowed to make money.

Two nasa isnt bloated they're almost a skeleton crew now a days.

Also more interesting in the Moon mining H3 project.

Finally did you know most of the gold we use today isnt natural to earth? Earth's own gold reserves are mostly radioactive and unusuable in its current state most of the gold we use today came form asteriods from post formation.

This is cool, but they still havnt perfected commercial flights into space so I dont hold much faith in this being profitable in my lifetime tbfh.

We were all born about 50 years too soon.. well, at least I was (I'm kinda old). It's sort of exciting to be there in the early days of commercial space exploration, but I sure would love to see where we are 100 years from now.

Then again, when the movies 2001 and 2010 came out, people thought that's really where we'd be in those years.... not quite...

BTW, if nothing else, this will likely lead to technology that can help divert an asteroid that we discover to be on a collision course with Earth.

I think a few people didn't read the article. We aren't sending people into space with a couple of jackhammers, we're sending a satellite with some chemicals up there.

And the gold we mine will not be free. In fact it won't even cover the cost of the launch for several years.
