Escalation to Inferno Macintosh Issues and Feedback

EVE Online: Escalation to Inferno has been deployed. Escalation to Inferno brings a number of improvements into EVE Online, including changes to security systems, titan rebalancing, UI features and much more. General feedback about Escalation to Inferno can be posted to the general feedback thread.

Please use this format for reporting any issues in this thread:

• Description of problem, the more verbal the better

• Hardware info (Mac model, GPU, CPU, RAM etc.)

• OS version

• Step by step guide to what causes the issue

• Step by step guide to any workaround that has resolved the issue for you



If you are getting verification errors upon starting the client after patching please try this workaround:

• To force the launcher to re-patch your client you can browse into the client (Show Package Contents) to EVE Online.app/Contents/Resources/transgaming/c_drive/Program Files/CCP/EVE and delete a file called common.ini before restarting the client again

Hi

1. Launcher updated itself fine.

2. Step 1 of 3 got to the download bit and downloaded about 190 megs and then just quit unexpectedly with no reason nor cause to be seen

3. I restarted the launcher and it is doing step 1 of 3 again but at a much much slower pace than before and has not even gotten to the download part yet.

I do not have much hope that it will succeed this time.. will keep this post updated.

Well I am just speechless..! Not the result I was expecting after the above, but then I am a Pessimist (Optimist with experience) by nature and I was completely expecting to rant and rave about my client not working... but.. It is just fine and I can log in.

Hi

Launcher starts OK but when I press Play after few secs I get folowing error:

Still keymap doesn't work. I can't change keymap english to russian in fullscreen mode. Only in window mode.
At HD3000 still fly black textures while you warping.

Forgot one more thing: as there was a problem with a decrease in FPS when you are trying to lock. So after locking it return to normal. Strange thing, because I have low FPS only when see numbers of lock seconds.

• Click on EVE Online icon in the Applications folder lead to opening EVE Online Launcher that started downloading 300MB of something at step 1 then at step 2 it started applying it and crashed even no one touched anything. Again click on EVE Online icon starting Launcher laying that client is Ready because after clicking Start it gets Error message that you see above.

Still no reply? Are you kidding me? I understand you've got probably fuill hands with debuging etc but few words like "we r working on this issue" dont heart you and we can see that posting this crap might be helpful..

Client seems to make my machine run a lot hotter than previously. In Crucible I'd be around 70 degrees C with the fan at 5k rpm when sitting in a station managing market orders (hangar view, no cq). Now with the same settings I'm having trouble staying below 90 C even with the fan at max (7k rpm) speed.

Not working 4 me. Launcher(v.1.31) says client is rdy. After pushing play, launcher ends and launch game .. after few secs .. excat time when login screen used to appear we get error with verification..

This is exactly what happens to me. The Launcher updated OK. I have closed and re-opened with the same results.

Please you are talking to people waiting to play, we all tried everything that is within our power to run the game. Reboot, client restart, clear cache, what not! Must say this post is rather insulting.

I'm somewhat getting the same thing. There was an error with the patching process, so I quit out of the launcher and restarted the main wrapper. Launcher comes up again and tells me that the client is ready. I launch the client and obtain the same verification error that most others are having, except with only three verification failures, as opposed to the long list that the others are getting. Deleted common.ini within the actual client wrapper. The launcher now tries to download the Eve_Online_0-364755.patch generic patch file. It first progresses slowly enough, but every time it gets to 5% it holds there for a little longer than normal, then shoots forward to 15% and the launcher produces an error message that the patch information is corrupted and unusable, with an option to download the patch again.

Something must be wrong with either the launcher or the .patch files themselves.

In the mean time you can used the Generic Patcher to update your client.

not working 4 me.. after launching patcher and selecting EVE client to patch. Patcher quits and launch EVE launcher, it says client is ready and after launching game I recieve exact error as above..

My problem is similar, I start TQ, it downloads patch, I hit OK. then everything just stops.

Start TQ again and it said the patch was downloaded and I hit OK and it just goes away, nothing else happens.

Is this generic patch supposed to be applied to the main client wrapper that I normally should have in my Applications folder, or the actual client application wrapper found within the main wrapper?

EDIT: Nevermind, silly me, can't open package contents from inside the generic patcher UI.

I think it would be better to give us a Minesweeper game to play while working on solution.

This is not working and yes we are paying you to test for you.

Generic Patcher is not working, it's launching launcher again and not solving anything.

PS. I'm sorry to be so straight and hard but this happens every single update so I'm pretty much stressed. In my company when someone doesn't do same thing right 2 times he gets fired.
