When you get blowed up, and you will. don't take it personal, if you can strike up a convo with the guy/guys afterword. (presuming they're cool people, most pirates actually are. this doesn't mean you should trust them though.)

I learned more from the 5 minute convo with my first pirate than i did from the first month of playing.

Very true, I have had quite a few people and up thanking me after I blew up their ship due to conversations like these, and to be honest about half the people I ever recruited for corporations were pilots recently on the receiving end of my guns. Just remember us pvpers arnt all bad people, many will give you good avice after killing you including how not to die from pirates in the future. What?

some pirates that blew up my ship during my first few days actually gave me 5mil isk afterwards. Another guy bought me a new incursus and fitted it then gave it to me and showed me how to tackle another player.

one guy recruited me into his corp and taught me some things about pvp. now if only i actually listened better i might be better, oh well lol

Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs.

I started to play in 2004 and join a founding corp of Stain Alliance. At that time there was a big war raging on between Curse Alliance and anybody around them. I was around them and dragged into some of the biggest battles of that time.

Moving on in time and space I took part in all major wars in the south of EVE and destroyed thousands of ships and lost quite a few myself. Fore some strange reason I became entrusted in Dark-Rising to be a director. I was working as a recruiter (read: I was rejecting missile spammers.) and later as a main fleet commander. If there is EVE there is DRAMA. So I split up with them and went back to empire to amass the wealth of empires.

Who knows where I go next?

If you go the way of the miner, 2 or more accounts work well

To play catch up focus on 1 profession limiting to level 4 for most skills

I have been playing since 2004 and you can constantly switch from one section to the next.

On my to do list is still PI, Worm Holes, Pirate Life, Merc Life, Eve University. and the list goes on.

I have so far completed, Missioning, some epic missions, Null sec life all play styles except manufacturing.

and there are so other things I don't know .

You should join player corp asap. I recommend Eve University. Join E-UNI channel in game and read about them here www.eveuniversity.org

keep in there the game can be over whelming. Take it slow. Focus on 1 career at first, Start a second account if you want to do another character.

Someday I will have the time to play. For now it is mining afk in High sec. In Cheap ships

Hey man.

I've been playing since 2005 and have been a combat centric player the whole time. I've done mercenary work, and null sec territory warfare, but the most fun I've had is low security piracy. If you dont mind being banned from high security space (and believe me, well set-up pirates always have ways to get stuff into and out of high sec), then piracy is a lot of fun when you fly with a bunch of like-minded individuals. The group I'm with now, I've been playing with for a couple of years now, and recently we joined with Gallente in Faction Warfare to have more targets and access to immense wealth (FW missions pay really well), with some bigger backup if things escalate.

It's a lot of fun, and like other people say dont listen to the people who believe you have to have all level 5's to pvp well, because that is not the case at all. PVP is more about knowledge of the situation and your fleet/ship's abilities and less on your SP. I can tell you with 100% certainty that individuals who have only been playing for the trial period can still wreak havoc on the pvp battlefields, and as the case is with many people here, don't be afraid. I have bought new ships for, and tutored many people whom I had just killed. Partly because I remember being new and dying myself, and partly because training people how to pvp is an investment in our future as well as theirs. Believe it or not a lot of our best members are people who we had killed and who struck up conversation with us afterward.

Sure, you will find some elitist individuals/groups who will treat you badly, but that doesn't represent the majority, not by a long shot. One thing to keep in mind, about the skills as far as ships are concerned, is that each ship and module only uses a small portion of a pilot's overall SP. For example, if I fly a battlecruiser, I am not using any of my battleship skills or any of the battleship module skills. It's a lot easier to "catch up" than people think because the raw SP value of a pilot is nothing compared to his knowledge of the battle and his skill in combat. That's what makes this game great.

At any rate, if you read all this, thanks for sticking with me. Feel free to look me up in game if you want help or questions or anything :)

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia
