I am on a rifter, doing Sisters of Eve epic arc... have a good fit (3x AutoCannon II and 1 missle launcher), with some armor and shield tanking with Shield Repairer II

I warp in... 20 drones warp lock me... i die.. because my shield repairer or armor repairers cant sustain that much damage... how am I supposed to kill them without dying if I can not warp out?

Maintain speed. Speed, namely high angular velocity, makes it harder fro them to hit you.

Also do NOT dual tank, shield or armor never both. And an mean never... this isn't just some elitism thing where "pr0s" says what is good or anything, it just really doesn't ever work. You only dual tank if you want some lawls. Buffer tanks will run out of PG and CPU before you can dual tank and active tanks will cap you out in 3 seconds.

The rifter can however do either one. Pick one, stick to it (for that ship anyway) and then fit some resistance on there. Damage controls are great no matter which tank you use cause they add resistance to everything, even structure (the only modules that does so).

Make sure to keep an eye on the overview and look for the icons of ewar. Webbers and warp scrammers are top priority

Let me guess.
Burning down the hive?

Two strategies that work.
Bring a cruiser, fit it with a heavy tank and fit small guns.

Or
Keep the frigate, fit Afterburner, speed mods and LONG RANGE weapons.
Range can mitigate a large amount of incoming damage, basically use keep at range to stay out of their effective range, while keeping in your effective range.
You should still have a bit of tank, because you aren't going to be avoiding all damage, but otherwise focus on keeping out of range.

Something along these lines
[Rifter, Kite]
Damage Control I
Overdrive Injector System I
Power Diagnostic System I

1MN Afterburner I
Small Shield Booster I
Stasis Webifier I

250mm Light Artillery Cannon I, Titanium Sabot S
250mm Light Artillery Cannon I, Titanium Sabot S
250mm Light Artillery Cannon I, Titanium Sabot S
Light Missile Launcher I, Mjolnir Light Missile

This strategy is called Kiting.
There are several guides out there, but the main idea is, screw angular, just keep them out of range.
It works fairly well for beginner players.
With artillery you should aim to shoot them at over 20km and KEEP at 20km away.
I'm not 100% on this, but it should keep you out of their warp scrambler range.
Prioritize the "Strain" whatever drones, they will be the ones to scram and web.
Web the drones that survive to get in close.

And if all else fails, use the old eve standby.
Find a bunch of people who are more likely to shoot the enemy than to shoot you, ask them for help.

There is a fine line between a post and a signature.

One point to add to Culmen's advice.

The drones will be in two groups - make sure you get intitial aggression from only the closest group and lead them away using the kiting method Culmen describes. When they have been dealt with you can turn your attention to the others.

Them Minmatars must have tried to work something with nanites to rebuild shields on the go... mix of repair paste and duct-tape maybe?

You die because you tank with both armor and shields with shields you have to tank with the next size category, also shield boosters are meant to be run as a burst tank.
What you need to do with drones is to out run them also plugging your resist holes should help as rogue drones deal "omni damage".

First error, and made by almost all new players (now and in the past), is that you use both a shield and armour tanking module. General idea in EVE is tank one of them, some ships prefer shield tanking (Caldari and some Minmatar) while others prefer armour tanking (Gallente, Amarr and again some Minmatar). Keep in mind that I say prefer as you don't have to armour tank an Amarr ship, though shield tanks usually aren't as great on them as armour tanks due to their slot layout and base shield HP vs armour HP.

2nd error, also depends how far are you in the SoE Epic Arc missions, is that you might use a ship that is too small for the duty. Have you done all 5 career agents for a start, if so you should have a destroyer as a reward from I believe the Adv. Militairy one. Train to use that ship and it should give you a bit more bite against frigate sized rats in mission over your frigate, destroyers can be able to complete the entire SoE Epic Arc, with the exception of one of the last missions (not trying to reveal spoilers) as it's a really hard missions for newer players.

3 x 250mm small artillery,
1 x salvager 1
2 x cap recharger II
1 x 1mn after burner II

1 x small armor repairer II
2 x Energized Adaptive nano membrane II (Drones do omni damage).

1 x Capacitor Control Circuit 1
2 x Auxilliary nano pumps.

all v Cap stable, goes 1049.

kill tackler drones first check:

http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=MissionReports

When you first warp in and get agro and the drones start moving towards you turn your camera around and double click in space to manually pilot away from them. Do this to dictate range, keep adjusting your couse slightly at a small angle to maintain transversal.

Do these steps and you will spank this mission.

Noir. and Noir Academy are recruiting apply at www.noirmercs.com I Noir Academy: 60 days old must be able to fly at least one tech II frigate. I Noir. Recruits: 4:1 k/d ratio and can fly tech II cruisers.

Hi there, as a newb myself I faced this damned trap yesterday and well... lost 2 Coercers to them until I figured out how to take them all out.

But I think it was worth the effort because I learned two damned important lessons. The most important one... don't leave your hangar without a warp stabilizer. I flew into the hornet's nest and got pinned down. Due to their stasis webifiers I couldn't move and the warp scramblers did the rest to keep me pinned. Luckily I did indeed insure my ship, so the loss was not thaaaat big (didn't take real worthy items with me). In the second try.... yeah well laugh about me, sometimes you have to learn it the hard way. I chose to take em out by distance, so I bought a new destroyer, bought beam lasers etc. and radio s crystals. The thing is... the warp stabilizers decreases your range. So I left it out... took out some drones until they came near the 10km range so I jumped out, recharged and jumped back in. And yeah...well... sometimes you should think twice when playing a real online game... I jumped right back in where I left off, so I got pinned down again, far from taking them out from distance. They were still only on the brink of the 10km range and I couldn't jump. So that's the story of my second loss... The third attempt was way better and I learned a lot of things during this fight. I guess one of many hard lessons. Well it cost me some ISK (still angry about it...) but keeps you from risking too much.

So my tipp for this mission...take a destroyer, you should get one by doing the military tutorial or buy one (affordable after the tutorials imo). Don't risk anything you can't afford to lose. Scout your enemies, be prepared to face strong enemies and be able to flee and reequip. Try to take as many out as possible by range and then jump back in prepared for close infight, tank amor or shields, not both, jump out rather too early than too late.

Really the only mission during the story arc (as far as I got until now) which really posed a challenge, but damn it was really fun figuring it out.

A tip why your 2nd attempt didn't work.

You did a good deal using shooting at range and warp out when they came to close. The mistake you made is trying to do this on the warp-in spot of the site. Means you attracted all the rats to the warp-in location of the mission. So when you warp out they will go idle there and were dead on you on your 2nd warp in.

Usually you move away from the warp in and then warp out when they get close, this means you can warp into the site again to find the rats at range again. Burn into another direction while shooting and warp out when needed again, rinse and repeat until all rats are death.
