The Thing That is Wrong With Eve

Free Speech

It seems to me that as of late that there are a lot of whiners complaining about everything and anyone that doesn't fit the norm. Much more then usual.

Sorry to say guys it is the different people that make Eve special. If you want to continue to ruin your game keep it up. People are always complaining about how CCP caters to the carebears (or whatever group) and how the game is continuously being dumbed down. This, lets call it pussification, of the game needs to stop. The constant rule changing, rule bending and silencing of individuals to appease the vocal minority of whiners needs to stop. I really see this as becoming a serious issue because of the partnership between Sony and CCP for Dust. Is Sony going to further strongarm CCP into adopting their PR policies?

If you can't take a joke, a troll or off the cuff remark then you need to HTFU.

That being said I will viciously troll you if you spew *** hate or any hate in my local but I will defend your right to your own views as well.

P.S. I was mad, had a cookie and now I'm ok

I think what you are talking about are lines that people shouldn't cross. I disagree, if you don't explore and push the boundaries then you are destined to live in a box.

We already live in a box. Those that go outside it end up in [insert terrible place to be].

Anyway feel free to cross whatever arbitrary lines someone decides on. Just be prepared to face whatever consequences may be brought.

That is the point. There shouldn't be rules instituted to dissuade people from doing so. If you are so offended by what someone says you have a number of options to pursue, one of which should never be the silencing of that person.

I don't think posting terrible, barely literate crap on the internet really constitutes any kind of "out of the box" behavior. Its just annoying and disruptive.

When you own your forum you can have your free speech. Doesn't change that others can dictate how their forums will be used.

This of course is the logic that leads to the slippery slope that EVE is moving towards. What is next, no trolling ever, no spamming in Jita ever, sounds nice right? After that no more scamming, no more corp thieving, no more can flipping? How about no more non-consensual PVP? How far down do we need to go until the game is no fun for anyone anymore?

The point that you are all missing in this is that CCP will no longer be calling the shots. A few nagging calls from Play Station parents about how their son Billy so loved Dust that he created an EVE account and was promptly scammed out of everything he owned, and that someone ought to do something to keep that sort of thing from happening again?

Won't happen you say? You have never worked in customer service. Watch and see I guess. But I will continue to defend the trolls so long as I can because once they go, who will be next?

I don't care where the line in the sand ends up being drawn, as long as you spamming the forums with crap every night is on the side that ends up getting axed.

You can cry about whatever you want, trolling is trolling and its against the tos. Some leniency is fine, but you regularly create intentionally pointless, inane or rubbish threads that bury the few decent threads that get posted here. It wouldn't be so bad if you were imaginative enough to be an entertaining troll.

Anyway, you should just be banned under the tos, and we should all be allowed to move on and forget you exist.

I wondered why my tinfoil stocks were going crazy. I then found out that scooter had posted.

TBH I have no idea what you are referring to. Possibly you are some sort of communist who doesn't like any form of dissent or you have absolutely no sense of humour. If you read my early post in this thread which I am certain you haven't, you are one of those people that need to HTFU.

Funny thing about free speech. It goes both ways.

Obligatory umadbro.

In place of your being banned, I would also be satisfied should CCP choose to send you on an extensive humour training course instead. Currently you are about as amusing as catching crabs.
