Anti-Aliasing not working

I can see all the anti aliasing quality settings but it's not anti aliasing at all no matter which setting I choose.
I'm running fullscreen.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
There don't seem to be any graphic driver settings on the mac at all, so I don't know what to do about this.

System info:
Macbook Pro 2011
Mac OS X 10.6.8
AMD Radeon HD 6750M
Vincent Athena
Photosynth

I can see an effect on my MBP. Its very subtle. But maybe its because I got a NVIDIA card.

However the drop in FPS is so severe, I got to keep it turned off.
