If you care about spaceship command skills (and thus, likely combat orientated professions), why don't you have a perc/will map? :|

I'm a new player (about 1.4 mil sp) and have the (probably brain-fart) idea to train into a Drake then cross train to get into a Typhoon (my favourite hull).

Frankly, I'm confused by these proposed changes and how they will affect my own little world. Right now flying a Caracal and I'm training toward Caldari BC for the Drake. I'll tool about doing missions (for cash) and exploration (fo teh lulz) until I've cross trained Minmatar ships into a Typhoon and then work up the Projectile skills (I'll already have the missile skills).

All this talk "need to train this asap" and "hey! free SP!" and "if you dont habe BC V b4 changes you are screwed" is making me nervous. Think I'll go hide in rat-hole until I figure it out.

No you haven't

As for the rest of your question, the fact is they realy don't know jet. The only thing that was granted was that wat you can fly before the patch, you will be able to fly after the patch. People have jumped to the conclusion that, that will mean they gain free SP. though as far as I haven't heard any conformation on the fact that that will happen.

They might as well change the ships. everything produced or bought from a certain date will reqiure those skills. In that case you could also still fly what you flew before the patch, in till it's destroyed.

My understanding was that the new rcial BC and destroyer skills will have a lower multiplier than the current generic skills. So if you miss out on getting BC trained to 5 training the individual racial BC skills to 5 will take less time although if you want all 4 races to 5 you are most likely better off training them before the patch.

Personally I have all 5 of my active toons training as many of the racial pre requisites as possible and getting BC to 5. just to maximize my benefit. I planed on cross training eventually any way so why not do it now.

From what I can tell CCP is basically just screwing every single new player over. Sure you can train for caps and some t2 ships sooner, but to be able to fly a Drake and a Cane will probably take months longer. Nevermind that new players should be starting out with Drakes and Canes and not T2 ships. At the same time they are giving an advantage to pilots like me (who have all the subcap skills I want trained), by not making me skill any longer, but also making it easier to train for caps.

You know there are some skills that help you fly spaceships (in combat) which require intelligence as primary attribute like Engineering or Navigation.

Yes. But most of them are core skills that you get before 10m SP.

The interview specifically said they wouldn't be doing this.

I'm currently INT/MEM and I'm training BC V. I lose about a week compared to a PER/WIL remmap, but in the long run I gain something like two months not having to train each racial BC V. And anyone who eventually might want those skills should do the same regardless of their current remap; you'll come out waaaaaay ahead in the long run.

Yup.

I now have all racial Cruisers at III minimum, plus BC V. So I'm supposed to receive the 4 racial BC skills at V. f they do not make it a lower level skill, I get 3 level 6 skills trained to V, just like that.

I also trained all racial frigates to IV minimum and today I'm putting Destroyers V in the queue. And that should be it.

I was wondering the "how and when" as well.

My main is a 50m SP toon with BC4, Gallente and Minnie Frig 5, Cruiser 5, BS 4. No skills in Amarr and Caldari ships, which i wanted to start crosstraining soon.

Training BC to 5 atm will take me about 20 days with current mapping. Assuming that i don´t remap soon, i would lose 40 days of skilling for Amarr and Caldari racial BC5.

So, as i have some 3+ m unallocated SP from learning skill removing, will it be enough to train BC to 5 (will spend unallocateds here), or will i have to train racial frig 3, racial cruiser 3 (4?) as well, and when is this s*it coming?

Was reading a lot DEV statements about this case but still haven´t trained the skill "Dev post understanding" to a high enough level. Can someone enlighten me?

Dev Post Understanding isn't a public skill, so only CCP staff have it.

As for your unallocated skill points, Battlecruisers (currently, at level 5) has 1 536 000 Skill Points.
