Incursions and level 1 missions

Hi folks:

A word of warning to new people: if you're in a 0.9 security system with an incursion on, running even a level 1 is a ticket to a nice letter from Pend Insurance.

Trying to grind up standings on a fresh alt and running level 1 missions to start with.

Unfortunately, the agent that I picked is in an incursion system.

I got a mission, warped to the agent deadspace and instead of nice, easily-frigateable level 1 mission rats, I'm looking at a room full of industrial-strength incursion sansha. I know this because I had may main follow the alt into the ungated mission in a BC (I'm here to grind standings, not have a challenging experience) and it took about the same amount of time to clear as a scout site.

I've found another level 1 agent away from the incursions; just wanted to share the wealth with people who need to know the most.

While I have no idea if incursions have an actual effect on missions in the system, if those NPCs were Sansha Incursion NPCs the chance you would have survived that as a new player is about zero. Sure it wasn't just a particularly hard L1 mission ?

Like I said: I had this character with a battlecruiser in the mission, and that clearing it (in a battlecruiser) was about as hard as clearing an incursion scout site.

I'm not a new character, I'm grinding up standings for a fresh alt. And my fresh alt got two-shotted and did not survive.

Until some level of incursion clearing (no idea how to word it differently), having an incursion in system with a mostly red progress bar, means your shield/armor resists and turrets/launcher/drones will be gimped, you will lose 50% of the bounties as well.
Now, did you mean your fresh alt was in a BC, running a L1 mission? and you lost a 30k+ ehp boat with only 2 shots from L1 NPC? really?

Was that mining mission?

Any mining in Incursion area can trigger tough incursion-rats.

Sorry, just to highlight:

Myself, earlier wrote:

emphasis added
Myself, after the first response wrote:

Two day old alt. Years old main. Two day old alt is fleeted and squad leader. Warps both characters to mission, then does nothing while main in BC clears the room.

Room spawns incursion sansha. Sansha attack two day old alt, blow her out of the sky before I can warp her out. Four year old main, in battlecruiser, clears room and notes that sansha are doing incursion damage and have incursion resists.

Player behind both characters thinks "That could be really bad for a new player, I'll put up a warning post to new players in the new player forum about it". Player behind both characters becoming increasingly frustrated with people whose second language is english and who do not grasp what he considers a fairly clear passage of text.

So, if that's you: Caution: incursion rats sometimes crop up in missions. Do not run missions in incursion systems.

ETA: There was mining involved.

Thanks for the edit and precisions, makes it less confusing.
Also, to point the new players towards the information, when arriving in a system with ongoing incursions, the progress bar of the incursion has little icons floating below, telling what local services are disrupted, hovering the mouse on those explains the nature of the disruption.
Seems to only affect missions with mining involved though, I ran some missions in my local region this week-end, during ongoing incursions, but none had any tougher rats than expected.
However, since incursions cripple mission bounties greatly, I'd advise new players to stay away from those systems, L1 and L2 missions already have creepy rewards, getting nerfed to oblivion soon, while ships and mods prices rise through speculation, they don't need another hole in their wallet.

This is important to note. Incursions don't affect mission spawns, but they will change NPCs which spawns as result of any mining.

Your resistances got nerfed. Then your alt got hammered by normal mission rats.

Who was this missison for, what rats were you clearing from the mission?

There is no way you could have solo'd and cleared multiple incursion sanshas in a Battlecruiser.

Im betting they were normal sanshas from the mission, your alts resistances were nerfed from incursion penaltys and got wasted.

Again, here im not trying to argue with you or say your wrong, im just trying to make sense of what you've said.

Noir. and Noir Academy are recruiting apply at www.noirmercs.com I Noir Academy: 60 days old must be able to fly at least one tech II frigate. I Noir. Recruits: 4:1 k/d ratio and can fly tech II cruisers.

Just remeber, Incursions don't last forever.
They pass in a few days as people clear it.
Think of it as a storm, rather than fixture/
