It takes alot of work to retrofit new capsuleer ships like drakes and such (and its practically impossible for t2/t3s) for use by crappy non capsuleers (standard rats). On the other hand the older ships from pre or early capsuleer times the rats (and the faction navies) have in abundance. Ships like the dominix for example were designed to be flown by standard crews and had to be converted for capsuleers.

The rat ships are different to the capsuleer ships anyway. Just because it has a raven hull doesn't mean it should be like a raven, otherwise something went rather wrong with the rattlesnake.

The other thing to remember is how much ships in eve have changed since the basic rats were first created. Sansha nightmares chuck torps and armour tank after all.

By keeping bumpmap/spectralmap and pasting in the skin. And it's one skin, btw, you can work with different layers in photoshop... you can flatten them... in the end, it's one image. Those devblogs are just feeding BS to impress people who don't know better. Yes, I've done it. Many people have. It's the most basic and common thing that modders do.

Which still leaves the actual design of the skin, which requires someone who knows what they're doing. CCP and CSM have stated on many occasions that the bottleneck in these rework projects is art. Perhaps you should apply for one of the art jobs at CCP and show them how it's done?

Someone who knows how to conjure up some brown camo pattern = anyone who knows how to use photoshop = everyone.

Just to entertain the troll, I'm a PT, so obviously the pay cut isn't an option, especially since CCP underpay their employees compared to elsewhere. There are lots of modders who can do such simple tasks in their spare time, but have real jobs to attend to.

It's never been any "bottleneck" or lack of ability, but rather lack of willingness. They finished every details of space barbie, but couldn't conjure up some camo pattern.
